We welcome the use #SNOMEDCT by NHS England for and look forward to NI, Scotland, Wales following suit. These codes are used in medical records to flag that you have been in contact with carcinogenic material. An important step forward for #firefighters

My thoughts today are with all those impacted by the awful events which took place on the 7th of July 2005, hard to believe this was now 19 years ago, but for many the physical and mental wounds will feel as fresh as it was yesterday.

Fun fact. The saying “Off the Run”is from days of old when horse drawn fire pumps were parked on a ramp which was called "The Run" If the horse wasn’t fit or the pump not working then it would be taken off the run. phrase is still used today and means equipment or people are fit. – at Yorkshire and The Humber, England
