[Trigger Warning: Suicide, Depression] Driving home yesterday my friend and I saw somebody on the side of the road who looked like they were in distress. We pulled up and asked if he was okay. He said, very frankly, "I'm feeling suicidal. I'm waiting for a lorry to come past so I can jump in front of it." Without going into detail about his life he was a gent in his late 40s and he'd really been through the wringer in the last few years. We were able to sit with him and chat for a while. We talked about The Doors and buses, mainly. We called the Crisis team and found contacts for people that knew him who came to pick him up and take him home. The world's tough at the moment and you never know what's going on with other people. I'd like to think that, had we not driven that way home, somebody else would've done what we did. I hope you don't encounter anything like this today, but if you do - of even if you need help yourself - I wanted to share a link to some numbers in this thread. This year I'm very honoured to be doing The Great North Run for @theCALMzone who help people in their very darkest moments. If you want more details about what they do you can find it in the link below. Sending love to you today, whatever you're going though.

A BBC local radio listener wrote to me asking what she should do to stop the changes. It got me thinking. What can one do? Is the BBC now proving itself worryingly unaccountable? (More on this blog post, click the pic) davidlloydradio.com/post/the…

The BBC have decided to cut out something I said on my final radio show today. You can still listen to it here.
New audio - "ageist, ableist" and "unbelievably unfair". @SophieLLittle offers her thoughts on the BBC Local Radio cuts at the start of her final show @BBCNorfolk (Sept 10th 2023). #AircheckDownloads

ELTON JOHN has just called for the BBC to review its planned cuts to @BBCIntroducing. See his posts on Instagram instagram.com/p/CvfCwq8MHP3 and Facebook facebook.com/EltonJohn/posts…. If you agree with him see xitter.cf/freshnet/status/168532… for the most effective ways you can share your views.
You can share your views with BBC management here: bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints and with BBC Radio 4's on-air 'Feedback' programme here: bbc.co.uk/programmes/article…. And if your local show is being axed or merged you can tell your MP how this will affect you here: members.parliament.uk/member…

This is horrible news. Even if I were to never listen to a single second of local programming, it’s still essential that it continues

I'm so sorry to hear this. You guys have always been so supportive to me and my music. You have been so lovely to chat too and it's such a shame it's going 🫤😥And who's going to play our stuff now?!

Same old shit with the indie civvies that point the finger at decent artists. The #billynomates set on the Park Stage was the best from yesterdays selection. Chaotic, original, and just tune after tune. Bands are fine but some people just don’t need the fucking things.
