Platelet donation #2 and counting!! ❤️❤️ I think I’ve already got my New Year’s resolution figured out. I’m donating platelets and blood as often as I can! My teammates and I had an amazing weekend! I hit .375 for the weekend and had a great time competing with my team! Had a great weekend at Ray Seymour! I got to help our sister team out a little, and across both teams I finished with a .625 AVG and a .700 OBP! Today, I’m taking a few hours out of my day to give back to my community by donating platelets. 🖤🩶🤍 Did you know that only about 1% of people donate platelets? I wanted to share why this means so much and why more people should consider donating! Platelets are especially important for cancer patients because treatments like chemotherapy can cause platelet counts to drop, making it harder for their blood to clot. Donated platelets help patients get through treatment and can even save lives. One platelet donation can help up to 3 patients, and because platelets only last about 5 days, there is always a need for donors. If you’re eligible to donate, I encourage you to look into it and consider becoming a donor! A few hours out of your day could make a life changing difference for someone who needs it most.
