Me in the Amazon Basin in 2001, when I started grad school with the support of an @NSERC_CRSNG scholarship. It paid $17,300, and was barely enough then. The same award pays $17,500 today. Just $200 more in 22 years. #SupportOurScience

I'm deeply saddened by Dick's passing-- I got the news in stunned silence.
Dick loved evolutionary biology, population genetics, mathematics, and theory. He was an exceptionally clear thinker and writer about knotty concepts.
He was fun and funny. Thoughtful, kind, generous.
