😵💫 TIL some phishing sites fingerprint your browser/device/IP & selectively redirect security researchers to the real site, while serving the scam site only to potential victims.
Wild cloaking technique I’d never heard of, apparently now common in pro phishing scams!

Sneaky fuckers. From my clanker.
It's a scam ad that changes what it shows based on who it thinks is looking.
You click the ad and land on a "One moment please, verifying the link" page. That page quietly looks up the current scam address from a blockchain contract, so the operator can swap domains at will, then hands you to a lookalike link made three days ago.
That site runs a commercial fingerprinting service on you, which checks your browser, device, IP and behavior, and its own server decides whether you look like a real target. If you look like a bot, a researcher or a security scanner, or the check fails at all, it sends you to the real `foundation.xyz`, so anyone investigating sees nothing wrong. That's exactly what happened when I first opened it. If you look like a real victim, you get a fake "Passport recall" that asks for your 12 seed words or gets you to "create a new vault" whose words the attackers already hold. The operator can even ban or redirect specific visitors by hand from an admin panel.
Damn it looks so official ://
Here we go again.
General purpose hardware, particularly DIY looking good.
Good luck @FoundationHQ and all those affected.
It’s just endless these days
ANNOUNCEMENT: SPAM EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT THAT APPEAR TO HAVE COME FROM OFFICIAL FOUNDATION DOMAINS.
We have traced this back to one or more compromised API keys on Cloudflare, and have already revoked all API keys.
The malicious domain in the spam email has been taken down.
Funds stored on Passport are safe and Passport hardware is not compromised.
We are working nonstop to discover exactly what happened and will put out a report ASAP.
After many months of work (don’t make a magazine if you’re looking for easy 😂) we are so excited to let you know that Edition One of Timechain Art Magazine drops this week!

A fantastic collection of photos from @hodlerHiQ of some of the stunning pieces at @LuganoPlanB Gallery!
Amazing work by all, both in the creation of the art and the installation of the gallery. Huge proof of work all around .. future generations will be blessed to get to ponder these first decades of bitcoin’s existence through the hearts of artists 🧡

New release: Electrum 4.8.3. This release fixes a critical security issue, so we urge all users to upgrade. A description of the vulnerability will be published later today. (note: Windows Defender may show a warning about ZXing.dll, ignore that, it is a false positive)

🚨 There’s another concern worth discussing following PHP2Shell and the recent security disclosures.
What happens when a bitcoin wallet provider holds one of your signing or recovery keys, and its internet-facing infrastructure is compromised?
@Bitkey @CasaHODL @AnchorWatch @unchainedcom @nunchuk_io
We understand that a provider-held key alone generally cannot move funds in these multisig setups.
But suppose an attacker compromises the web/API infrastructure without obtaining the private key itself.
Could they manipulate signing requests, trigger unauthorized co-signatures, bypass spending policies or abuse recovery workflows?
What independent safeguards prevent this? And which guarantees remain intact if the backend itself can’t be trusted?
We’re not suggesting any of these services have been affected by PHP2Shell. We’d genuinely appreciate some technical clarity on these trust boundaries.
Keeper offers optional server-assisted signing too, so these are questions we need to keep asking ourselves.
The more of this we can independently verify, the better.
This was NOT a consumer VPN breach - Mullvad, Proton, Nord VPNs etc unaffected.
k0t targeted enterprise Fortinet/Gate/Web & Palo Alto GlobalProtect
Downstream risks for plebs do exist: Possible stolen customer/employee data, temporary service outages, credential reuse risk etc
🚨 Hackers breached enterprise firewalls and VPNs worldwide in a campaign linked to k0t.
Over 70,000 exposed credentials identified.
Fortinet and Palo Alto devices targeted. Persistent access established. Data exfiltrated.
