Long-term trends in the US are abysmal, many crises that don't get addressed, maintaining the status quo collectively dooms us. Structural change or collapse.

Swedish central bank (Riksbanken) The oldest central bank in the world... "The money that government agencies spend does not come from anywhere. Money is created at the very moment an agency, with legal authorisation, makes a payment to the private sector"
Chips cannot fund a casino. Airmiles cannot fund an airline. Subway tokens cannot fund the subway. A Gov currency payment system cannot fund Gov. The private sector can only fund them all withe their blood sweat & tears. There is no free lunch.

"A bank’s ability to grant loans and create money has nothing to do with whether it already has excess reserves or deposits at its disposal. Instead, various economic and regulatory factors constrain the process of money creation" -Deutsche Bundesbank

After mismanaging the MTA for 10+ years as Governor, Andrew Cuomo would now like to mismanage it as Mayor.
Replying to @Estarkmiller
.@andrewcuomo repeats that he would propose the city takes over the management of the MTA, which is run by the state. "The MTA is too big to be able to manage the transit authority, effectively, let the mayor, manage the New York City Transit Authority," he says.

Mamdani did best in racially mixed precincts, while Cuomo did best in precincts which were >80% white or <10% white

I don’t think a lot of people appreciate how much of their overall lifestyle and relative certainty is backstopped by a steady, boring stability of systems they don’t understand or even realize exist.

It is now being revealed that western journalism was being funded and propped up by the United States government in order to spread pro war neoliberal propaganda Never forget it was Barack Obama who signed a national security order so the United States government can propagandize its own people The “conspiracy theorists” were right once again

29.3% of Americans voted for Trump. 28.6% voted for Harris. 42% voted for neither. Congress's approval rating has fluctuated between 11%-29% since 2005. Americans know we are being liquidated by the 2-party carousel. We know collapse has been inevitable for decades.

“I think the real reasons [for prohibiting the Fed from directly purchasing treasuries] can be traced to certain Gov bond dealers who…had their eyes on business…lost to them if direct purchasing were permitted.” Marriner Eccles, 1947
6 little words in the Banking Act of 1935 - These force the system that confuses the public, even the highly curious/educated public, and many/(most) economists, into profoundly misunderstanding the system we have. Accounting shakes out to OMF, but appearace radically deceiving
