I'm currently reading for the second time The Ocean At The End Of The Lane by @neilhimself. I really loved it when I first read it a couple of years ago because it really spoke to me on a deep level. Three chapters in and I'm confirming everything I felt the first time.
Just read The Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi. It was a really fun read! First book my depression has allowed me to read in about a year aside from comics, graphic novels and audio books.
Thanks to severe depression and anxiety issues this year will be my lowest read count in ...probably ever? I've been trying to beef it up by counting single issue comics, lol
I forgot that I've had this account that long. It started out as DarthBaptistReads whenever I was using the Darth Baptist moniker. Hopefully I'll get back to using this more, but mental health has been trash for the last year or so.

One day I'm going to eventually come back to this account and tweet again about books and comics. My mental health has been very bad for the last 12+ months. Reading has not been easy for me while my depression and anxiety have been so severe. I'm still around, just quiet.
So far this year I have been listening to the Expanse series. I tried to watch the tv series, couldn't get into it. But I am loving the books so far. I finished book 2, Caliban's War today.
One interesting thing about this series: I LOATHE the main character, Jim Holden.
I think he's a self righteous, crusading Boy Scout, & I hate him. But the other characters I like.
In this book I really liked Bobbie Draper & Chrisjen Avasarala. Both are badass women who don't take shit off any of these morons.
Starting book 3 now.

"I was not happy as a child, although from time to time I was content. I lived in books more than I lived anywhere else." p. 13
I learned early on to hide my unhappiness, bury it down, keep it to myself. I escaped to books, they were my safe place. My Fortress of Solitude.
