Usain Bolt's retirement account showed $12,758,181.74 at the end of October 2022. By January it held $12,000. In 2017 Jamaica's regulator had flagged the firm holding it for "a culture of non-compliance and mismanagement of client funds." His company opened the account at Stocks and Securities Limited in 2012, the year he won his second Olympic 100 metres. It was meant for life after the track. Authorities later confirmed he put in $6.2 million. A wealth adviser there, Jean-Ann Panton, confessed in January 2023 to taking money from 39 clients. Bolt's company was not on her list. She later told a court the founder had offered her a deal to confess. He denies it. At a relay launch that month Bolt spoke for the first time. "I'm not broke, but it definitely put a damper on me, and it was for my future," he says. He has three kids and still supports his parents. In December 2025 investigators took the founder, his daughter and the former CEO into custody. Panton's trial starts in February 2027. The victims' compensation fund has declared a 4.5% payout. Two years later, on a podcast, he was asked what changed. Every movement in his accounts now needs his team's sign-off. The $12.7 million is still not back.
