Here's another good one - 12 June 2008. Totally obvious, right? Well it wasn't at the time!

This! I am looking stuff I said over 10 years ago and thinking how mundane it sounds now. This is from the NEF Food For Thought event, San Francisco, 7 June 2009. If it was obviously "risky to bet against" clean energy, why all the coal bankruptcies and oil/gas write-offs?

We are in the middle of a global pandemic — and people need access to health care now more than ever. Donald Trump should reopen Obamacare enrollment immediately.

Distribution co-ops can also support behind-the-meter options for their members: efficiency, demand response, solar, storage, and other DERs. Lots of ways to manage power supply costs to keep rates from rising @holycrossenergy

Important topic for utilities, utility customers, new market participants.
By the way, if you want some additional expert perspective on the emergence of non-wires alternatives, we've got a great on-demand #webinar by Steven Collier (@SmartGridMan) available in the @IEEESmartGrid #ResourceCenter. Check it out at: bit.ly/IEEESGRC-NWAPt1 #smartgrid

Hi @HansWernerSinn, your story that EV have higher emissions than ICE cars has been thoroughly debunked, as you must know. It's really strange to see you continue to promote it. What's the story? Are you misleading people deliberately or through error?

Dear @guardian: this utter bollox about how EVs have higher emissions than internal combustion vehicles has been multiply, brutally rebutted (by @AukeHoekstra and countless others). WTF are you doing giving it a new lease of life? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

The @iea has just launched its latest Renewables report, upping its projected growth in renewable capacity to 50% over the next five years. But that would imply a massive slowdown in renewable growth rates: share of wind generation has doubled 5 times in 18 years, solar 9 times!
We just launched @IEA's Renewables 2019 report, with fascinating insights on how installations of solar PV systems on homes, commercial buildings & industrial facilities will soar by 2024, changing how electricity is generated & consumed.

Good article on #Texas #energy markets and pricing. "The real silver bullet for us as a country... is to have real-time price information, so people know not just what the power costs over an average of a year, but what it's costing right then." bit.ly/31jkQhH #wind

This seems like kind of a big thing. 😉
Looks like Daimler Benz is ceasing all internal combustion engine development and switching efforts to electric propulsion. For the first time since 1885 there will be no new generation of Daimler IC engines under development. Absolute. End. Of. An. Era.

Argentina's RenovAr program raised $7.5 bn over 3 years to build 6.5 GW of RE capacity, deliver 18% of the country's power, and save $bns/yr in fossil fuel imports. Its architect, Sebastian Kind, is now a on a mission to show other countries how to do it.

Anyone interested in a comprehensive vision for a zero-carbon global energy system - one that deals with heat and fuels, not just electricity - needs to take time and listen to @Jared_TH2 talk through #thermalhydrogen. It's hugely ambitious, but there is much to like about it.
