The Smart Guy / Sports Truth

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but our national anthem was born in the middle of a war. On September 13, 1814, British warships unleashed a relentless bombardment on Fort McHenry as American soldiers fought to defend this nation. Men were wounded, men died, and through 25 hours of cannon fire and exploding shells, the fort refused to surrender. Francis Scott Key watched from a ship, wondering whether the American flag would still be flying at sunrise. When dawn finally broke, there it was. Our flag was still there. Our national anthem is a firsthand account of the courage, resilience, and bravery of the Americans who fought, and still fight, to defend this nation. This isn’t YOUR moment. This is a moment to honor the men and women who sacrificed everything so you could have yours.

Atlanta Police BLOCKED Enes Kanter from entering tonight’s WNBA game.

If this were the @WNBA , there would be an investigation and the entire arena would’ve been kicked out

🚨🚨HEARTWARMING🚨🚨 Cleveland #Browns first-round WR KC Concepcion made a special visit to Berea-Midpark Middle School to meet with students receiving speech and language services. Concepcion, who has struggled with a stutter his entire life, opened up about the challenges he has faced and how he found the confidence to use his voice. “Everybody is going to face some type of adversity. But it’s how you push through that adversity.” He encouraged the children to embrace their journeys and never let their struggles define their futures. What an incredible role model and class act. 👏❤️

HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: THE AIRMAN WHO FELL TO HIS DEATH AT THE UTSA FOOTBALL GAME LEAVES BEHIND A WIFE AND TWO YOUNG BOYS. We now know the identity of the U.S. Air Force member who tragically fell approximately 150 feet during a military rappelling demonstration at the Alamodome in San Antonio on October 17th. His name was Technical Sergeant Ian Patterson, a decorated Air Force veteran with 15 years of service. Ian was participating in a pregame demonstration honoring our military before the UTSA - Navy football game when something went terribly wrong. He descended at a dangerously high speed and struck the field in front of thousands of spectators. He was rushed to the hospital but tragically did not survive. Ian was a husband to Niki and a father to two young boys. Niki is a stay-at-home mother who homeschools their children. Ian was their primary financial provider. Ian spent 15 years serving our country. He served in Korea, Colorado, and Germany, and was recognized as the Air Force Special Warfare Enlisted Instructor of the Year in 2022. A GoFundMe has been established to help Niki relocate closer to family, provide for her children, and handle potential legal expenses. Please pray for Niki and these two little boys. Our military families sacrifice more than most people will ever understand. 🇺🇸 Rest in peace, Technical Sergeant Ian Patterson. Thank you for your service.
