Customer context can easily get lost in the handoff. PwC’s "common brain" approach could make it much easier to carry that context from one interaction to the next.

Scaling AI-driven efficiency in energy depends on reliable operational data and integration with existing industrial systems, two challenges highlighted by the new ADIPEC report.
The new ADIPEC Global Energy Report 2026 caught my attention: 22% of oil and gas insiders name AI-driven efficiency as a top commercial opportunity today, versus 27% in ten years.
A signal of changing business priorities.

@ADIPECOfficial Partner.
Another finding adds context: 81% of energy insiders expect AI-driven electricity demand to exceed current forecasts.
This creates a closer relationship between the energy and technology industries.
Energy companies need to understand how computing demand will evolve, and technology companies must understand the capacity and operating requirements of energy systems.
I find this mutual dependency particularly interesting because investment decisions in one industry will increasingly affect the other.
ADIPEC 2026, taking place from 2-5 November in Abu Dhabi, offers an opportunity to examine how these developments will shape the energy business.

Building something of your own starts from a clear inner drive that asks to be translated into action.
If you feel this direction, move forward with commitment, accepting that results are not always immediate and persistence through obstacles is what turns intent into progress.

AI consumes energy in 2 phases: training and inference. The first has a finite cost per training run; the second keeps accumulating with use.
One training run has a defined end. Inference follows demand, whether the model handles a few requests or millions.
Microblog @antgrasso
Training requires computation to develop the model. Once a training run is complete, the energy consumed during that run is a fixed total.
The trained model can then be used repeatedly without being trained again for every request.
But every request still requires computation.
The more frequently the model is used, the more inference energy accumulates. The amount also depends on how much processing each request requires.
A simple question and a complex analysis do not necessarily consume the same amount of energy.
For organizations deploying AI, estimating energy consumption means considering both the training process and the workload generated throughout the life of the service.

We’re moving from access to experts toward access to their simulacra. That may scale reach, but it changes the nature of trust.
When expertise becomes a product delivered by a model, the question is no longer availability; it’s accountability.

Generative AI in insurance improves processes. However, it also exposes how decisions are actually made.
What stands out in Hiroko's perspective is the ability to connect structural differences across markets with the realities of implementation. That's where most strategies either hold or break.
Welcome, Hiroko Washiyama.
Strengthening JP–EU Expertise in Insurance and GenAI Strategy
Insurers in Japan and Europe face structural differences in regulation, data, and operations. Generative AI is revealing the core of underwriting and governance, while growth opportunities arise as insurers move beyond financial protection into adjacent service ecosystems, such as elderly care and mobility.
Bringing this expertise into the ecosystem, Hiroko Washiyama joins the Digital Growth Collective as an Executive Fellow.
Hiroko is an insurance and GenAI specialist with over 14 years of experience at Nomura Research Institute, where she led innovation, digital strategy, and AI initiatives for major insurers in Japan and internationally.
Her background includes hands-on experience within leading insurance organizations, including secondments to Nippon Life and an international assignment with Tokio Marine in Shanghai. This has given her a deep understanding of insurance operations across markets.
Now based in Frankfurt, Hiroko focuses on the structural differences between Japan and Europe, analyzing how regulation, data environments, and operating models shape the real-world application of AI in insurance.
Her work goes beyond efficiency gains, examining how AI reveals and transforms the underlying logic of decision-making within organizations.
In her role as Executive Fellow, Hiroko will contribute perspectives on AI in insurance, underwriting transformation, and governance, supporting organizations in navigating complexity and building robust, future-ready operating models.
We are delighted to welcome Hiroko to the Digital Growth Collective ecosystem and look forward to her contributions.

AI is repricing markets.
Not defining winners.
Capital follows what is easiest to measure: chips, compute, data centers. But value creation will ultimately shift where it is hardest to model.
That is why and where leadership matters most.
