Thank fuck I’ve never been a gambler. One of the most insidious and pointless industries on the planet that largely, negatively, impacts the impoverished. I’d love to see this industry die on its arse.
A man bet €60 on two horses and believed he had turned it into €319,440. Ladbrokes refused to pay, citing a racing investigation he wasn’t part of. He launched High Court proceedings, and a year later he got a fraction of it. – Dylan Phelan, 25, from Dungarvan in County Waterford, worked at a racing stable for trainer Declan Queally. – On April 19, 2024, he walked into a Ladbrokes shop in Limerick City and placed a €30 each-way double on two of Queally’s horses. – He took Ladbrokes’ early prices of 80/1 and 125/1. – Rocky’s Diamond won a maiden hurdle at Limerick, and 22 minutes later Diamond Nora won a mares’ maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe. – His €60 stake had become €319,440. – But when he went to collect, Ladbrokes wouldn’t pay. – The company said it would hold the bet until the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board finished investigating the two races. – Race stewards had referred both winners to the regulator because of their apparent improvement in form. – The regulator confirmed that Phelan was not under investigation. – Other bookmakers had paid him on smaller bets on the same horses. – Ladbrokes’ shop terms capped the payout on a bet like his at €100,000. – Phelan said the investigation had nothing to do with him. – Ladbrokes said it waits for an investigation to finish when a sporting body is looking into events it has taken notable bets on. – Phelan launched High Court proceedings and waited for a hearing date. – More than a year later, his story went public and spread to millions of views online. – Eleven days later, in April 2025, Ladbrokes agreed to settle the bet after talks with the regulator. – He was paid €100,000, not the €319,440 on his ticket. He risked €60 on a double that won €319,440. Both horses won, the regulator cleared him, and he waited a year while Ladbrokes held his money. In the end, he was paid, but only a third of what his ticket said.

This is really poor by @FA. The governing body is supposed to protect players. It should be disputing this regulatory commission verdict by members drawn from the FA judicial panel. Max Dowman could have suffered a bad injury to his standing leg from a dangerous challenge which went unpunished. Arsenal 16-year-old shouldn’t have reacted but his frustration was understandable. Some other players might have rolled around and ensured a bad challenge was punished. Dowman didn’t. He doesn’t stay down. The FA should have shown some understanding towards Dowman. Instead, it has suspended him for three games. FA priorities all wrong: tolerating a poor challenge and some weak refereeing but punishing a kid who objected to a bad challenge that could have dealt him a serious injury. Protect players. #AFC

Game of the Generation
Grand Theft Auto VI | Edge Magazine new details: ▫️ Map is roughly the size of GTA 4, GTA 5, & RDR 2 combined ▫️ RDR2 had a 'profound influence' on the narrative ▫️ Much more interior areas than previous GTA titles ▫️ The game features fully functional bus and train systems ▫️ Coffee buffs your stamina, protein shakes buff health ▫️ The density is even more impressive than the size ▫️ Rockstar head of development says there are still new areas he hasn't seen before, even after years ▫️ The amount of detail Rockstar has put in is insane - there's a new system where characters can dynamically react to varying degrees of disgust based on the current area they're in ▫️ Rockstar created an entire studio just to focus on NPCs ▫️ Each NPC is assigned personality traits including temperament, aggression, where they are, what they have seen, and the player's behavior towards them ▫️ NPCs in each district behave differently - no more generic GTA NPCs that immediately run ▫️ Rockstar began building a new type of open world with RDR2 - one with richer interactive systems, NPC behaviors, and player interaction - that plan began building GTA VI since at least 2015 ▫️ Bonnie and Clyde dynamic was decided on after Red Dead Redemption 2 was complete ▫️ For several years, the two projects overlapped ▫️ Streets and highways have been narrowed to feel more believable ▫️ The day and night cycle has been expanded ▫️ In GTA 6, walking around holding a shotgun can be enough to disturb the peace. In previous GTAs, they wouldn't react until you pointed the gun at them. ▫️ Pedestrains even notice how you're carrying it - if it's slung over your shoulder they might not react as much, versus carrying it in your hands. Some pedestrians may even try to challenge you. ▫️ You can drop the weapon, and the game allows a certain degree of latitude before crossing into the Wanted Level ▫️ Your Criminal Profile is scaled from 'Professional' to 'Irredeemable' represented by angel and devil icons ▫️ You can choose to incapacitate an enemy rather than kill them, or attempt threats and intimidation before resorting to violence ▫️ Your Criminal Profile will even affect how Jason and Lucia's story unfolds ▫️ Similar to GTA Vl, you can switch characters at any time ▫️ Unlike GTA V where each character was an opportunist, Jason and Lucia are 'bound together by an emotional history' ▫️ Their closeness is measured on a four-point scale, which increases the more you spend time together ▫️ While you can choose their closeness and what kind of criminal you are, the story is built around being partners in crime ▫️ "Quitting crime is, however, a fundamental theme of the storyline" ▫️ The game asks whether your criminal life is worth it ▫️ Being a criminal feels more precarious in GTA VI ▫️ The heat system tracks your location, clothing, and accomplices ▫️ Stealing cars will be more challenging - some drivers will be armed and ready to fight back ▫️ Certain vehicles will be marked with trackers too ▫️ "A pedestrian you are robbing for his wallet might attack you [...] a holdup in a gas station might go south when a shopper decides to play the hero [...] later, during another escape [...] a group of youths in a customized 4x4 challenge you to a street race." ▫️ GTA VI will be a game where you can really make whatever you want of it ▫️ There were dedicated teams for brands and billboards, radio advertising, television shows, pedestrians, political races, and more Releasing November 19th, 2026 Much more here: gamesradar.com/edge/gtavi-co…

I’m not surprised by the comments made by the Somali Army Ground Forces Chief, Gen. Khalid. Reality is that Kenya has already supported Abdirashid Janan & his militia in 2021 against the Farmaajo government to ensure Kenya maintain political hegemony in Jubaland via Madobe. Ethiopia supported factions in Somalia since the 1970s. UAE supports the genocidal RSF in Sudan. So it’s not far fetched for a foreign actor to support AS. Many of us have always thought that anyway!

Steve Eisman - Who called the 2008 crash - says the entire market is now "one trade," and it "better succeed" "Even people who think they're diversified because they own bonds are NOT really that diversified" The Big Short investor sold Google to cut his AI exposure and is sitting in cash. What's worrying him: > He Sold Google, Now In Cash (0:06): - A stock he's "owned... I can't even tell you how long" - sold to reduce AI exposure. He won't replace it with defensive names: people "don't want to shift out of it to buy Clorox." > If AI Fails, "A Big Correction" (0:52): - It's binary: AI succeeds and the market keeps climbing, or "I think we have a big correction." How big? "That's a hard question. I don't know." > "It's All One Trade" (1:07): - In a 60/40 portfolio, "more than 50 percent" of the stocks is "tech and AI related," and "most of the new issuance of bonds is AI related." Then: "What scares me is that it's all one trade. So it better succeed." > "Incestuous" Circular Deals (4:03): - The latest Nvidia deal is "so incestuous" and "totally convoluted" - "you don't know if there's any real profitability" in the machinations. He's not even an AI skeptic - it's going to be "something really good" (3:53) BUT "that doesn't mean that everybody succeeds" He actually moved to cash. Most crash calls come with no position behind them I traced every big AI CRASH CALL to its source and scored who was right ↓

NEW: Bibi Netanyahu’s son, Yair, has just released a post here that states that allowing Arabs to vote is an existential threat to the country of Israel akin to Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. The BLATANT racism evident in many Israelis is staggering.

Its sad-funny watching the Chud movement celebrate the Corporations continually destroying gaming with price hikes, mismanagement & studio closures believing its all happening cuz of "activist writers" and DEI! It plays perfect with their dumbass "woke boogeyman" scapegoat grift, when this sort of rampant unchecked corporatism has existed for decades in the industry and has been a cycle. When corporate entities stupidly chase short-term shareholder value, live service slop without substance & market consolidation then gamer atrophy & mass layoffs are bound to follow. But NO GUYS, its ACHTUALLY cuz "purple haired women in gaming are destroying our games! and now they are jobless! Haha!! this'll teach those devs!! GO WOKE! GO BROKE!! hurr durr!" geezuz🤦‍♂️

Sorry but this conversation around Dowman and Arteta's interaction on the touchline has been blown way out of proportion. Anyone who's played sport at any level has been yelled at by a coach. Bunch of keyboard warriors. Touch grass folks, it's good for you.
"Arteta was arguably guilty of the exact same crime that Dowman had been sanctioned for: an excessive emotional reaction in the heat of the moment." @SamJDean writes that Arsenal's manager should have done better as his 16-year-old winger was sent off against Fleetwood⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/202…

This is probably my biggest frustration with Arsenal. That defensive core should win the title every season. There’s nothing better than this in world football. But we make it a dog fight every season because our attack can’t create separation to help us win enough games easily
I don't think fans understand how difficult it is to get an elite core of Saliba, Gabriel, Raya, Rice. It's a group that may take us another decade to put together again, with that knowledge you should understand how frustrating it is wasting the building blocks of a dynasty..

Good, never understood why people gave a fuck about the league cup anyway, garbage competition, my only problem last night was Arteta playing the likes of Odegaard
Arsenal now will have a full week of rest: - before Man Utd (h), - before Hull City (a), - in the week between Man City (a) and Liverpool (h) - And will not need to potentially re-schedule a home tie with Sunderland (who could be in Europa action) 20-30 rest days. Added.
