VICTORY! Today, Solidcore’s COO sent an email declaring that all Solidcore coaches who are currently classified as independent contractors (everyone except managers, corporate employees and senior master coaches) will be reclassified as employees. ORGANIZING WORKS.

Gyms have been unable to fully participate in federal relief programs due to limitations on the use of funds for standard gym expenses such as independent instructors. Let your member of Congress know that community gyms are essential and need relief now! gymscoalition.org/

Thank you @deliangoncalves at @wusa9 for having our coaches on to share their Solidcore COVID stories. Caring for our community means holding company leadership accountable in order to ensure they do all they can to protect coaches, clients, and all DC residents safe.

This calculation seems to include the lobby, bathrooms, and storage spaces. An in bad faith interpretation of guidelines, yes... but good policy shouldn’t leave such glaring loopholes @MayorBowser

UPDATE: Solidcore is now closed in DC

Solidcore studios in Philadelphia are currently closed (and studio managers were immediately laid-off)

Solidcore’s CEO is putting coaches and clients at risk by allowing large and maskless indoor classes to take place at studios across the country. However, when she wants to coach, capacity is cut by half and masks are required. We want to see care for our PEOPLE over PROFIT.

Solidcore has the resources to very quickly and easily notify relevant clients of exposure. It is a conscious choice not to utilize these capabilities— putting lives at further risk.

You 👏 can’t 👏 know no one has contracted COVID from your studios if you don’t tell people they need to get tested.
