The Church is inherently linked to the history of art itself. It would be a massive disservice to ignore this fact, and I'm glad that Pope Leo XIV recognizes this.
Machines are incredibly helpful and precise, but art is an expression, an expression of emotion from one's heart.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
You could only play games from 2006 and back and you would STILL have enough incredible games to last you an entire lifetime.
Something AAA companies and AI numbskulls should probably remember more often, I think.
