Yes! BUT - for #MS, remapping joints must come first so that we can then relearn correct functional movements. Many of us have so much compensated movement to start. Brain - joint first then slowly increase movement complexity and strength building. @TheMSGym1
Functional fitness movements work multiple muscle groups simultaneously. This holistic approach helps in developing strength that's usable in daily life scenarios, unlike isolated exercises which might only work one muscle group at a time. So, focus on functional movements for the bulk of your training. Functional fitness exercises that use your own bodyweight include: Squats Push-ups Lunges Burpees Mountain climbers Planks

This is such amazing news! My sister has thalassemia & when I told her about this, she got so happy, not only for the patient but for the medical advancements that 🇸🇦 is making. She wants to fly to 🇸🇦 to see if she could qualify for this treatment as well. Hopefully she can 🤲🏼

Important info for my #MS peeps. Don’t restrict fluids for bladder issues - it backfires for bladder and causes more drama as well!
According to research published in Nutrients, water constitutes approximately 76% of muscle mass, and inadequate cellular hydration can lead to diminished muscle strength. In older people, dehydration contributes to frailty. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…

This is a great hip flexor strengthening drill!
TOP ½ HIP FLEXORS If you struggle to lift your legs when you walk or climb steps, there are many things you can do to get better. Hip flexion is lifting our femur (upper leg bone) up as we move forward. Hip flexion happens when the muscles of your instrinsic kinetic chain fire well individually and as a team. Those muscles are your: - Diaphragm - Abdominals - Spinal stabilizers - Pelvic floor - Psoas - Rectus femoris In this drill called Top ½ Hip Flexor pulls, you will focus on using many muscles and parts of your brain to slide your leg back and push your leg forward on the seat of a chair. As you pull back do the following: 1. Look at your thigh of the moving leg. 2. Breathe OUT. 3. Pull your knee to your chest using your upper thigh and core muscles. 4. Pause at the end of the movement. 5. Push your foot toward the back of the chair using your glutes. If you struggle to move your leg, you can use a resistance band to help you. - Place band around your thigh. - Pull the band back to your chest and hold it there. - Perform the hip flexion – the band will help pull your knee to your chest. - Push your leg back toward the back of the chair using your glutes. This is a very powerful drill when you perform in consistently and correctly so FOCUS. *** If you would like to watch my MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE workshop I did at Weill Cornell MS Center, TYPE “MOVEMENT” in the comments and I will DM you the link to your program. #movementismedicine #multiplesclerosis #mswarrior #mscommunity #mssucks #mssymptoms

Just out: mRNA COVID-19 vax do not establish in long-lived plasma cells; could account for faster waning vs. infection. Other mechanisms still protect durably vs. severe illness, but improving durability is important. Adjuvants (like in Novavax) may help. nature.com/articles/s41591-0…
