Just watched #Beyoncé’s concert film #RENAISSANCEaFilmByBeyonce, and I’m happy to say that this new delivery in partnership with #AMC is nothing shorter than a mesmerising all time triumph for the genre! The fantastic work made at the editing bay soars, making the experience dynamic and the closest to a real concert experience I’ve ever experienced in a cinema. And the way the concert is structured, with its Behind-the-scenes documentary serving as bridges connecting and giving emotional weight and context to each block of songs and to each aspect of her life and her tour that Beyoncé wants to put in the spotlight, is what makes it such an enjoyable experience. As someone who attended the actual live concert, I would say that this film elevates the original experience, not just for all the context given behind everything and for the fact of Beyoncé walking you through the process to make the whole thing happen that most of times would pass unnoticed by outsiders, but also because in here we can see so much detail that you would never be able to contemplate in the live concert itself. #Beyoncé’s commitment with perfectionism and attention to detail shine brighter than ever here and she shows why she is the master in this craft in such a way that no one in the industry has ever been. Visually striking with incredible costumes - so many that are seemingly inter exchanging during any given performance thanks to the wonderful editing - and high end technology, it’s pleasant to the eyes and a balsam to the soul. Loved the Uncle Johnny story and really appreciated to see Beyoncé in a more open, honest, sincere approach towards herself, with no false modesty. She knows she is in a league of her own, she knows how hard she worked to get there, and she’s not shy nor play coy to talk about it. And the way Beyoncé puts the audience of her concerts almost as front and center as herself in this film, giving so many, diverse gig goers their own time to shine almost in a reverential way - instead of using them as comedic relief like directors used to do on TV - makes the whole experience even more enjoyable, relatable and fun. Incredible achievement, and beautiful to see how the movie succeeds in connecting emotionally with audiences, my screening was buzzing, vibing, cheering and gasping throughout the whole thing, a testament of the excellent job here, that #Beyoncé herself wrote, produced and directed. To summarise, #RenaissanceAFilmByBeyonce is a cinematic experience incredibly crafted almost to perfection, having the charisma, talent and presence of #Beyoncé as the cherry on top of a delicious cake which you eat with passion and satisfaction without you even realising how big it was, and each bite worths it.
