I’m done here. I’m not supporting this platform unless and until it is no longer under the control of that petulant, fascist-platforming, egotistical, misogynistic, hateful man-baby. I’m on Threads and Instagram as @ sonyaseattle.

Finally finished this springtime lady (now where is *actual* spring??). I don’t paint as much in acrylics as watercolor, but I’m starting to feel more confident with them now. 16x20 (sold to private collection) #acrylicpainting #bear #art #seattleartist

Every year, when the nights were the longest, he came. He only stayed a short time, but during those moments, we all remembered that the light would return someday. —- 24x18, watercolor + gouache

So a while back, I had an AI program generate some fake pulp sci-fi paperback covers; the prompt was "1970s pulp fiction paperback cover of a squirrel in a spacesuit orbiting earth." The results were fun, but I decided I wanted to see if I, a non-computer human, could do better.

So this is my attempt. I changed it from a squirrel to an opossum, because I didn't see how a squirrel's tail could work in a space suit. Too fluffy. Here's the result! The painting is gouache on black matte acrylic, and with a little Photoshop help I made a new story.

Watercolor and gouache painting of a part of the Millersylvania park wetlands where we hiked this weekend. It was nice to get out before the rain starts, even if it was still a bit smoky.

Herbert always loved a breezy fall day, and the rain didn't bother him at all. All he needed was a little coffee and his favorite scarf, and a sheltered spot to enjoy the evening. #Watercolor #SnailLife #HappyFall
