Two women attacked on a pedestrian bridge in Milton Keynes, one in her 30s raped, one in her 50s the victim of an attempted rape.
A 19-year-old and a 22-year-old arrested on suspicion of rape and attempted rape. Both released on bail. Cops still hunting a third man on a bike.
This is modern Britain. Women can’t walk a city bridge without being preyed on, and the system’s response is “arrested and released pending further enquiries.”
Soft justice, zero deterrence, same old story. Women’s safety is clearly optional.

🌹 A POPPY IS MORE THAN JUST A FLOWER. 🇬🇧
It represents a life lost, a family shattered, a future never lived.
It honours the brave men and women who gave everything, those who never returned, and those who came home forever changed.
It is not a fashion statement. It is not a political symbol. It is a solemn promise that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
So wear your poppy with pride. Take time to reflect. Observe the silence. Teach the next generation why remembrance matters.
Because when we stop remembering, we risk forgetting the true cost of our freedom.
🌹 REMEMBER THEIR NAMES. HONOUR THEIR SACRIFICE. KEEP THEIR MEMORY ALIVE.
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM. 🇬🇧 – at Clayhanger, England

No, Emily, we don't regret it. 🙄
What people are angry about is a Parliament that never wanted Brexit, spent three years trying to block it, and then handed us a watered-down version.
Brexit wasn't the mistake. Not delivering it properly was.
And rejoining "would mean freedom of movement"? And accepting the Euro?
Thanks for being honest.

This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of any successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power.
Either the security services have changed their view - which would be very odd - or Burnham is lying about what he has been told. After all Starmer was in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information.

Cate Blanchett's homes (in England), completely insulated from the effects of “displacement”. When she calls the public narrative “toxic”, it is not she who has to live with an influx of refugees, or bear the societal consequences of mass immigration. How many could she take in?
"There's a toxic narrative around displacement which has been politicised"
Cate Blanchett, a co-founder of the ‘Displacement Film Fund’, speaks to #Newsnight about attitudes towards refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.
