Christopher Columbus! Great Man and Explorer!
Carol Delaney, Emerita Professor of Anthropology, Stanford University, gave a lecture in 2021 on Columbus for the Alexander Hamilton Institute basically summarizing her 2011 book "Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem."
Anyone who is interested in the real story on Columbus should watch the lecture, as the book may be hard to come by.
When I had my 10 minutes of fame as a phone in to the Philadelphia Art Commission’s hearing on the Christopher Columbus statue at Marconi Plaza in South Philadelphia in July 2020 Ms. Delaney also spoke at that hearing, testifying to Columbus’s stellar character and remarkable life. It was then that I learned of her book and studies.

Both the Philadelphia Historical Commission and the Philadelphia Art Commission later voted to remove the statue and place it in storage.
Friends of Marconi Plaza filed court challenges and eventually the statue was returned to the Marconi Plaza where it stands today. #ChristopherColumbus
