The reaction you get when you point out that, historically, other clubs only became 'big' and 'sustainable,' as a result of the initial influx of money from rich owners, (pre FFP) and that other clubs currently spend as big as City, but the difference is that City spend wisely.
So true.
Almost every rival I have argued with about the IC decision strike me as people who haven't read the arguments against their own positions.
I'm not talking about the knuckle draggers who just respond with abuse but those who believe they are reasonable and articulate people.
I know their arguments, they put their fingers in their ears and go lala lala when I try to present the counter.
It's almost like they're afraid of what they may learn, they should be.
Absolutely spot on!!

I don't like these pile ons. It used to be Lewis and Nunes. Now it's Donnarumma, Guehi and Fernandez.
Yes, our keeper had a bad game. He will be his own worst critic. He's a good keeper. Guehi's mistake was as result of a wicked bounce of the ball. Fernandez is a top player.
Ffs!
Anything more than a 50 point sanction would render City's future games meaningless.
It would be punishing the innocent - the current players and the fans who have paid for season tickets.
They have to be given a sporting chance to fight relegation.
This is a sport after all.
More importantly, why have the PL felt the need to spend an enormous amount of money, by appointing this guy, if they have so much faith in their charges and the IC's report?

🎙"City has gone out, regenerated the area, built the squad/players and put on a superb show. Utd have spent more and plunged the club in debt. Yet #ManCity are the ones everyone has a pop at..
"One (City) is vilified and the other (Utd) has no points deducted, no sanctions" 😡

Imagine being a grown adult whose entire personality is counting empty seats, fantasising about City losing trophies and crying over inflatable bananas. 😂
Imagine being that fucking irrelevant that City losing an appeal is the closest you’ll be to finding happiness. 🥳🎈
I've been thinking exactly the same. We've already beaten for example, Coventry, Ipswich and Man United, so if they are all involved in a relegation battle at the end of the season it would be very unfair if other teams in the battle then face a City side with no motivation.
You know what, there’s a big problem with the theory of a mid season points deduction that effectively relegates Man City.
Integrity.
If City know they’re going down regardless, what’s stopping them from prioritising cups, resting players and fielding weakened teams here and there? This would directly impact both the title race and the relegation battle.
In addition, any teams who have played City earlier in the season would have faced a completely different proposition to those playing them later.
I just don’t see how this theory holds up. 🤷🏽♂️
More leaks than the Old Trafford roof.
It's all become a complete farce.
I think the PL as an institution is finished.
City are going to wipe the floor with them in the High Court.
Massive reform ahead for the top flight of English football.
Man City to face HUGE points deduction which will guarantee relegation - and more could come next season - but they won't be sent down to League Two, insiders tell OLIVER HOLT trib.al/7JKSMj8
It wouldn't surprise me if the PL are now hoping City win the appeal.
They've aready inflicted massive damage on the club. Job done.
And they could play victims of nasty City and be excused the impossible task of imposing sanctions which all fans and media were satisfied with.
City have been on the end of some awful decisions in the past by that ref on Sunday. I cringe when i see he's reffing a City game. I can't stand the fella!
Yet the ridiculous United YouTube muppet and various scousers are spitting their dummies out at the red card.
Strange days.

Journalists and podcasters need to be held much more accountable for what they write and say. The vitriol in the lead up to this match from certain journalists and ‘pundits’ was abhorrent and an absolute disgrace.

Ignore the hypocrisy for a moment.
He's just said he's fine with his striker diving for a penalties and himself stopping a ball going over the line with his hand.
Both of those things are truly appalling in isolation.
In a blind panic to deny his hypocricy he's revealed more about his character than he intended.
Note the possessive 'my' and 'me' and we can add a double standard. These things are ok for him and his team, presumably not for anyone elses.
He's not a bloke down the pub, he's a pundit who's values and opinions are broadcast to millions and this is how he views the game?

Everyone defending Carragher right now is openly admitting that cheating on the pitch is fine but Manchester City’s owners investing in the club is somehow worse.
Actual hypocrites with zero shame.
