Essendon should wear red shorts occasionally.

Had a bit more time to process. I’m not happy that members didn’t hear about this before they renewed their membership (which included a large price hike). I understand the commercial realities, and we need the money, no real issue there, but it’s another case of the club…
I like that we’re including NAIDOC Week as part of Dreamtime. I’m not sure this is the best way to do it, and I’m concerned that it points to a club that isn’t in the best shape financially, because it’s been so far behind the game for so long, onfield and off.

Not respecting its people. It happened this week with Natalie Wood, and it’s happened several times over the years. I feel a bit taken for granted. @essendonfc please give us some explanation as to why fans were not informed beforehand. I think we’re owed that.

Essendon and Richmond will be taking Dreamtime to Perth in 2027. It will be a second Dreamtime game. First in SDNR at the MCG, the second at Optus in NAIDOC week. The two clubs are selling a game each to generate cash. It’s a two year deal - Essendon home game in 27, Richmond in 28. But - members are expected to have extra seating arranged at away MCG games to make up for the home game heading West. More on @7AFL @7NewsMelbourne shortly.

11. Treating AFLW as an afterthought as opposed to a professional sporting competition. That goes for most of the clubs too.

"I thought itwas almost a little bit disrespectful... it’s a lack of leadership from Essendon." Kate McCarthy and @joelbpeterson unpack the Bombers' 'disappointing' handling of coach Natalie Wood's departure on The Wrap, thanks to Head and Shoulders: afl.com.au/aflw/video/163619…

I am so fucking tired. Tired of the men raping women. Tired of the men killing women. Tired of the men blaming women for their own rapes and murders. Tired of the systems that allow men to continue hurting us. These past days we've been learning about young college student Annabel Richter who moved from Brazil to New York City to pursue her fashion dreams. Moises Freire and Brian Peralta Cabrera drugged Annabel and her friend with fentanyl. As Annabel lay dying, Freire raped her. Then the men took photos and sent them to their friends. They did not get the women help for at least 40 minutes. Freire, 19, is charged with participating in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and of distributing a deadly drug with intent to commit rape. Cabrera is charged in connection with the drug conspiracy. When the charges were first put in place, rape was not even listed. After widespread anger, Freire was charged with the offence. Flavia Rocha said her daughter “was full of life”. “She knew loads about music and art and had a contagious laughter,” she said. “Her presence filled the room. "For us, her family and her friends, she was and always will be, our beloved Bel.” As news of Annabel's death spreads across social media, countless men are blaming her. There's also widespread slut-shaming. Some of the comments are too horrendous to repeat. It feels like this is all on repeat. Everyday we watch as men murder and rape women and we watch as society blames the victims. I am so fucking tired.

One thing is clear. Mark McVeigh knows what culture he wants at Essendon. A culture that brings people and their loved ones together, and will hopefully get the best out of them as players and people. He’s living and modelling it from day one. I’m absolutely here for that.❤️🖤

Okay, pretty happy. We got our man, committed to him and got the deal done. Great. Would I have liked Pick 21? Sure, especially because of the leverage it gives us, and Brisbane could well trade that away anyways. But a good half back and still four picks inside 30.

The other pleasing thing is our future picks are untouched. Future Essendon will thank us (I hope!)

I remember him playing. He’s come work winning a Magarey Medal, played a few games, and then we cut him after one year. Never quite saw why.

It’s probably going to need to be 21 for Coleman because Brisbane will need the extra points. Murray is likely to go top 10, but Brisbane has a 20% loading for bids because they made the grand final. They currently hold Pick 20, 27 won’t do it with the loading.

Good to see you read my tweets, lads.
Jansen is a danger man, and Verreyne is quite a good bat. Still work to be done.
