POV: Olusanjo Olutayo
Head Coach, Inter Lagos FC
3 Games in charge thus far
2 Losses (H, A) ; 1 Draw (H)
Team seats bottom of the table after previous head coach (Shakiru Giwa resigned).
Where does he draws hope from?

Will the players be able to perform with the whole aggressive approach from coach Olusanjo of Inter Lagos?
This is one of the issues with inter Lagos, they don't know what to do with the ball!
They take too long to make decisions!

🚨 “We are going to weed out the cowards in this team! We are going to weed them out!”
Inter Lagos head coach Sanjo didn’t hold back after his side dropped points at home in a 1-1 draw against Ranchers Bees. 😳

🚨OFFICIAL RESPONSE FROM RIVERS UNITED FC
Re: Murphy Ben International Statement on Non-Availability of MBI Sport Coverage – Rivers United vs Rangers
Rivers United Football Club notes the public statement issued by Murphy Ben International regarding the Rivers United vs Rangers fixture.
For the avoidance of doubt, Rivers United FC did not prevent or refuse access to any television production crew. The match in question was **not** on the official broadcast schedule for live streaming under the Euromatch/NPFL arrangement, as communicated to the Club via email received on 30th October 2026 at approximately 8:09pm.
As a professional club, Rivers United operates strictly in accordance with communication received from the league body regarding the television and streaming schedule. We will continue to uphold and protect that schedule so that the Club is not placed in breach of league directives.
It is also important to note that Murphy Ben International has covered two of our ten matches this season, both in Port Harcourt. Rivers United remains supportive of increased coverage of matches across all centres.
Rivers United remains a professional organisation committed to the growth of Nigerian football, full cooperation with all legitimate stakeholders, and the orderly administration of fixtures under the Nigeria Premier Football League.
We thank our supporters for their continued understanding and support.

🚨 HISTORY IN LAGOS
First ever NPFL meeting between Inter Lagos vs Ranchers Bees.
Inter won the only previous meeting (NNL 2-0), and i believe they'll do it again today.
Inter Lagos need this win badly, and I'm backing them to get it done at home.

As much as i would like to see coach Olusanjo succeed in Inter Lagos, he has to be a bit more calmer with his reactions.
A lot can be said out of anger which might later cost him.
I really feel for coach Sanjo.
Those players are not good enough!
People talk about how the same players gained promotion, but they forget that the coach who promoted them had to resign because he couldn't get them to perform!
Those boy can't even do the basic!
They take too long to make decisions.
They don't take their chances!
It will take a genius to wake this team up.
I hope he can survive till mid season then Bring in reinforcement

the truth is that two facts exist:
1. Coach Sanjo is high voltage
2. Nigerian footballers can be inept when it comes to high level information processing/execution.
He isn't new in the system, yh, new in the npfl.
He was former sporting lagos coach and previously G12's coach.

I love this coach, he is intelligent, and sound tactically, only that his players are very inexperienced and playing scared. The pressure is getting to the players.

He needs to calm himself down. With this alone, he will lose the dressing room. This is not an academy team but professional side.
He can't last in that team. No player will love to play under this type of coach. You can't come to presser and start saying this about your players

Whilst some of Coach Sanjo's thoughts may actually reflect what happens on the pitch, in fact, I appreciate it when a coach can properly analyse his team after a game.
However, I think the lack of better wording and the composure to communicate some of these thoughts make this post-match interview a terrible sight.
Using words like "they", "them" and "their" to refer to your own players or team isn't particularly pleasing.
For someone who insists he's not under pressure, perhaps he is. When you start speaking about your own team in the third person, it raises questions about your relationship with the players and how you perceive your role within the team.
Anyway, a lot will need to change within this team.
