Sure, but, as always, when coaches aren’t using analytical measures to inform these decisions, they look arbitrary. No way that Formenton-Michaels-Joseph should be getting the TOI they’ve received.
I do like this about Babcock. Ice-time is the only leverage you have over players and Walman needs to be better

Imagine losing 7-2 to your former team and then losing to your other former team in a shootout. Babcock has lost the room. #FireBabcock

As Woodcroft taught us, the only way McDrai works is if the lineup is 11-7 and you double shift one of 29-97 rather than overplay the first line.

Not surprising really but Babcock is gonna be stubborn and stupid rather than listen to the analytics. The data is in: that third line should not be a thing and McDrai is not reducing McDrai’s ice time—it’s just exposing the rest of the lineup.

My word… this is so not it. I get Babcock trying to maintain some stability with the line combinations after Knob’s rollercoaster but pushing Frederic and Howard out over Formenton and Jones is just wrong.

Levi has so far shown a great mental perspective in his interviews.
ā€œIf I let in 1 or if I let in 7, I know the team still has a chance. So I’m just doing everything I can to stop the next one.ā€ Devon ā€˜embrace oilers chaos’ Levi

There were people who didn’t think Shea could replace Nurse, much like there were people who didn’t think Bouchard or Ekholm could replace Barrie.

Sit Formenton and bring in HĆ„llander. I don’t think the occasional breakaway justifies keeping him in the lineup.

McDavid is such a Draisaitl merchant. Barely manages to drive his own line last year but suddenly put him with Leon and he’s getting 200 points.

It might be the gear.
I remember watching Grant Fuhr growing up. He would let in some odd goals but when the Oilers absolutely needed a save he was lights out. I’m getting a bit of that vibe watching Levi.

Should be an Oiler.
How was Sebastian Aho drafted 35th overall? He's such a lethal forward

My takeaway is that Michkov is no longer wanted in Philadelphia. Time to dump him on a shitty team like the Oilers.
Trevor Zegras high-sticked his own teammate in Matvei Michkov, and Owen Power was given the penalty šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« Power was PISSED after seeing the replay on the jumbotron 😬

Every one of Ekholm’s contracts have been a massive underpay.
Yes, McDavid took a steep discount on his current contract. ...but nobody talks about that Ekholm left ~4-5M/year on the table to try to win the Cup in Edmonton.
