Two developments: Mumbai AQI
1) BMC to use 3,000 air-quality sensors installed at infrastructure sites to flag pollution hotspots. BMC says such a system will also help them decide on area-specific interventions, including road washing, to keep dust pollution under check.
2) Road washing using non-potable water will be back on the agenda as a measure to control air pollution in Mumbai. It maybe recounted that just a week ago, the civic standing committee had rejected a proposal to wash roads using water brought in by tankers amid the ongoing 10% water cuts in the city.
