16 consecutive seasons in the top flight - the longest in the clubs history.
A third placed finish, eight top six finishes, nine European ties, two Scottish Cups and one League Cup.
The Golden Era of St. Johnstone Football Club
Never know when they’re beaten, do they? Not a performance to be delighted with, mind, but the character shown again is most welcome. Felt it was a night and second half which showed areas where this squad is lacking - Chalmers a remedy to one of those?
Lots of nice football as always but Saints just lacking that real creative spark again - like Said has been for the visitors. Not had much joy playing through midfield, lots of space down the sides if they can work it.

St Johnstone have only won one of their past eight midweek games in the Scottish Premiership (D3 L4).
However, Motherwell have lost their past three away league games - last losing more in succession back in December 2017 (5 in a row).

Now entering the period and run of fixtures which looked like it’d define the season when the fixtures came out - vital to get as many points as possible before what looks — on paper — a tricky December. Should be aiming to take points from each of the next six.
If I ever get to the stage where I say an opposition player has intended to hurt a Saints player because he plays for Saints then tell me to delete this account. Wild stuff.
An encouraging start to the second half but managing to shoot yourself in the foot when you’re on top is a tale as old as time against the Glasgow two. Fotheringham red looked harsh from the corner but would need to see it again. An afternoon which could’ve gone better.
Disjointed springs to mind. Saints have really struggled to link defence and attack in possession, and have been far too easy to play through out of it. Doesn’t look to be an impenetrable Rangers defence either - as Fowler’s chance showed. Have to be better.
Draw probably about right, very little territory in the United half for Saints second half and guilty of dropping deep too early. Slight grievance may end about the time taken to make changes. Felt that should have happened quicker. Not a bad point though.
Enjoyable game of football prior to the goal, after that things became a little more scrappy. United have had more of the ball but it hasn’t amounted to very much at all - Saints have held their shape pretty well. Fowler goal an excellent move.

St. Johnstone are looking to earn consecutive Scottish Premiership victories without conceding for the first time since March 2021.
However, Dundee United have won four of their last seven league visits to Perth (D2 L1).

Second half not all that different from the first. Saints had to soak up a lot of Aberdeen pressure, but I wouldn’t have said they ever looked in serious danger of conceding, just lots of defending the box. Beginning to be really impressed with the different sides to this team.
Different type of St. Johnstone performance than we’ve become accustomed to but they’ve defended soundly and protected Toby Steward’s goal for the most part. Chosen their moments to play and moments to just go in behind well. Not a game for the neutral, though.
Looking like a back five for Saints this afternoon: Todd and Alic outside of Smith, Finlayson and Foulds. Fowler and Paton ahead of Stanton, McAlear and Holt.
Not an afternoon where much went Saints’ way, and yet. I’m a broken record for banging on about the character of this team — and it may come back to bite me — but today another tick in the box for it. Kudos to them.
Taylor Steven really should’ve given Saints the lead midway through the half, aside from that, little else to report. Very little quality on show from either side.

This will be the first top-flight meeting between St Johnstone and Falkirk since 2009/10, where Saints avoided defeat (W2 D2).
Falkirk are winless in five away Scottish Premiership outings (D2 L3) since a 3-2 win at Fir Park in April.
