St Neot's is a town in the Huntingdonshire District of the county of Cambridgeshire, England. It lies about 50 miles (80 km) north of London.

St Neot's was an early monastery, housing the relics of two saints (Sts Gueriir & Niot; for a discussion of the evidence see Olson 1989). Alfred is said to have been injured while on a hunting expedition and cured here after praying at St Gueriir's shrine (Padel 2002).
We'll be back tweeting some marvellous #earlymedieval sculpture tomorrow, but for now enjoy a lovely cross-head &cross-shaft frag (both broad faces imaged) from St Neot's Church, Cornwall. The cross-shaft is late 9th/early 10th c on stylistic grounds, whilst the head is 11th c.
