I often struggle with the emotional split between the mesmerizing beauty of pathology and the knowledge of what that beauty portends.
This particularly astounding case of metastatic tumor infiltrating bone is most beautiful to the histopathologist’s eye on one hand but heartbreaking on the other hand knowing the diagnosis.
The main solace in such cases is that at least the patient and their health professionals will get to know what the ailment is, which will guide management.
