This afternoon the Democrat-Gazette reported finding internal emails stating the Franklin county Mega prison disaster has been cancelled. Now the state is looking into expanding other facilities. This is exactly what I have been saying for decades. Unfortunately for the citizens of Arkansas, Gov. Sanders and Senator Bart Hester mislead the people of Arkansas by pushing a financial disaster and a disaster plan that would not make Arkansans safer. As President Truman said the buck stops here. Governor Sanders and Senator Hester are woefully incompetent. I already have a financially responsible plan that benefit all Arkansans not just political profiteers.

A judge ruled that Arkansas’s delayed special election for Senate District 26 violates constitutional rights. Gov. Sanders and AG Griffin say they’ll appeal the decision, defending the June 2026 date as cost-effective and lawful. “Governor Sanders is confident that on appeal, the law clearly giving the Governor the authority to set special elections will be upheld and ultimately save taxpayer dollars and ensure the election is free, fair, and secure,” Sanders’ spokesperson Sam Dubke said in a statement. “I am disappointed by the ruling and plan to appeal,” Griffin said via a spokesperson. Whatever our attorney general’s opinion, the dates set for these special elections are unacceptable. The general rule for any governor, any party, any district, should be, “How quickly can we restore representation?” If the AG needs to weigh in, you probably did it wrong.
#ARPX 🚨 Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s office has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit challenging the timing of the Senate District 26 special election. The state argues Gov. Sanders acted within her legal authority in setting the June 6, 2026 date, calling claims of wrongdoing “unsupported.” The brief also cites sovereign immunity, saying courts can’t overrule the Governor’s discretion on election timing. Shelby's attorney, Jennifer Sanderfer stated in response: "I'm reviewing the Governor’s filings, and will respond in due time directly to the Court.” Read the full filing here: ow.ly/x8n350XaOXM #ARNEWS #ARLEG

@ArkansasHouse @ArkansasHouse @SarahHuckabee Board of Corrections approved spending FIFTY. THOUSAND. DOLLARS to find out two test wells can give them 21 gallons per minute combined. That’s the big result. You can’t make this stuff up, but you sure are paying for it, ARKANSAS!

@ArkansasHouse @ArkansasSenate @SarahHuckabee A new water well might test at 16 GPM — but that doesn’t mean it’ll produce 24/7! If the aquifer can’t recharge, flow rates drop fast. Overpumping also risks drying up nearby wells! I hope @ShelbyDJohnson can help! 😂

@ArkansasHouse @ArkansasSenate A water well testing at 16 GPM may drop to 5… or dry up. That’s what happens when you overpump a weak aquifer. It’s not just reckless — it threatens nearby wells! This isn’t planning. It’s gambling with rural families’ water. 💧

@ArkansasSenate @ArkansasHouse @SarahHuckabee Why should we be surprised they want to pipe all the mega prison wastewater to Fort Smith? It’s NOT Fort Smith’s doodoo to deal with! Put the money back into the prison,” they say. “Nothing is off the table” said California dudes!

So in 2022 @BartHester miraculously planned this exact amount, yet no land, no surveys, definitely no expert, no research, but he just knew. What a very smart guy, nothing at all fishy about this. Buttttt fortunate for us we know with tariffs and lack of infrastructure that’s well over 1 billion dollars. @ARGOP @ArkDems @dismang @arhousedems @JustinBoydAR @SarahHuckabee @PrisonPolicy @VanirCM @lbengilmore

Sanders administration is planning to supply water to its new Franklin Co. mega-prison with a pipeline from Ft. Smith. But city leaders say they do not have the capacity to serve the prison. Is there a Plan B? #Arkansas #arpx #arnews #arleg swtimes.com/story/news/2025/…

@ArkansasSenate @ArkansasHouse @ArkTimes @KATVNews If Governor Sanders wants this prison on this Franklin County site so badly that she’s willing to sacrifice local family’s household wells, then this has gone beyond reckless—it’s insanity!
California firm says: Drill wells! The prison may use 300,000 to 500,000 gallons of water per day — billions over time. That’s a massive hit to the aquifer in an area where many wells already run dry or barely produce water. California reps will take our tax money & run!
