Familiar faces greeted Jaiden Smith Oct. 16 at the Cura of Melrose Care Center chapel in Melrose as she unveiled her butterhead as a 2026 Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalist.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” a resident said to Smith. “I’m just happy you are showing this to us.”
Smith, the daughter of Jeremey and Emily Smith, of rural Melrose, told residents the butterhead was carved out of a 90-pound block of butter by Gerry Kulzer,
...who is originally from Sauk Centre and teaches in Litchfield, on the second day of this year’s Minnesota State Fair.

For 41 years of her 44-year nursing career, she worked at Pine Villa Nursing Home — now Cura Care Center
