The conditions allowing for the safe return of Ms. Machado to Venezuela is the direct result of the U.S. supported reconciliation talks which has already seen hundreds of political prisoners freed and hundreds of political opposition figures return from exile.
The United States expects the freedoms of all sectors of Venezuelan politics to continue to be respected. Likewise, we expect all political actors to support these talks which represent the best chance Venezuela has had in thirty years to peacefully achieve not just a free and fair election but an enduring democracy.

To those who seek to create positive change in Cuba - now is the time.
The disappointment of failed promises, corruption, and the privileged lives of only a few; seize this opportunity to create the change you desire through a discrete partnership with the CIA.

American shipyards need skilled hands, capital, and speed.
Today, Danish Foreign Minister @larsloekke and I signed a U.S.-Denmark maritime cooperation MOU to deliver all three: faster training, Danish investment, and quicker, cheaper builds and repairs.
More jobs for American workers, resilient supply chains, and a stronger U.S. maritime industrial base. Under @POTUS, America is building ships again!

- JB

For too long, Communist Cuba has been allowed to operate as an outpost for malign actors and terror groups – including the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism – to target the United States.
Today, I designated BICSA, a Cuban financial institution which has been providing financial services to sanctioned Iranian entities.
Let me be absolutely clear: the Trump Administration will not tolerate a rogue state hosting hostile foreign military, intelligence and terror operations less than a hundred miles from our homeland. state.gov/releases/office-of…
From Greenland to Latin America, the Trump Administration has re-established America’s security perimeter, making historic strides to ensure the long-term protection of our borders and interests from narco-terrorists and geo-strategic competitors alike.

When our friends in Panama needed help, the U.S. military mobilized rapidly to answer the call.
Throughout the day in Panama, U.S. service members have been working shoulder-to-shoulder with our Panamanian partners to deliver critical relief to communities affected by yesterday's earthquake.
The @DeptofWar is supporting @StateDept-led U.S. disaster assistance to the people of Panama in the aftermath of the October 9, 2026, earthquake. The United States stands with the people of Panama.

With @StateDept and @Southcom coordinating operational efforts as part of president Trump's priorities, the United States is mobilizing critical resources to support recovery.
We are also providing millions of dollars in humanitarian aid to help affected communities rebuild.

Today, the Trump Administration is sanctioning the ICC.
This action should encourage our Allies within the Court to work for solutions to end this threat to U.S. sovereignty forever.

Productive meeting with @DinorahFiguera, President of Venezuela’s 2015 National Assembly. Following Operation Absolute Resolve, tangible progress has been achieved during the first two rounds of talks with the interim authorities. Looking ahead to the next round of talks beginning October 14, I look forward to continued progress that leads to lasting democratic change for the Venezuelan people.
Thanks to @POTUS and @SecRubio’s three part plan and significant U.S. efforts both to rebuild Venezuela’s economic recovery and sponsor democratic transition talks, Venezuela is on an unmistakable path to stability, prosperity and democracy.
I've been regularly traveling to #Venezuela to meet with stakeholders and study the prospects for change since 2014.
For the first time in 12 years of visiting, I came away from my last trip convinced that a negotiated democratic transition may finally be within reach. Here's why: (1/5)

SECRETARY RUBIO: “Nationalism” became a dirty word. So we tore down our monuments, we condemned our own history, and in too many places we taught our children to be ashamed of the countries they would inherit. In the process we opened our borders, and outsourced our industry, and allowed our militaries to wither and to decay.

.@SecRubio: "Under President Trump, the United States has made its choice. We choose the unapologetic pursuit of national power, to take back control of our critical supply chains, to reindustrialize our economy, to rebuild our defense, to fight for dominance of the technologies and industries of the future."
