State Fair Community College President Dr. Brent Bates was honored with the Individual Legacy Award at the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Awards Luncheon on Friday, March 27, at the Buena Vista Event Venue. SFCC Trustee Justin Hubbs presented the award, recognizing Bates’ transformative leadership since becoming the college’s sixth president in 2022. Under his direction, SFCC achieved 20 percent enrollment growth, expanded facilities by more than $60 million, and launched innovative workforce programs that continue to strengthen opportunities across the region. “His vision, innovation, and heartfelt advocacy make him a truly deserving recipient of this award,” Hubbs said.
