Maybe it's just getting older or maybe it's the team and club wearing me down after years of this but my response this morning was mostly "Ah man that sucks" and then I went outside and read a book

My biggest gripe through 10 matches or whatever is I still just don't really understand what this team is supposed to be? Can't really dominate games with the ball, can't really play through, sometimes press, sometimes block. Feels very generic?

Xabi Alonso so far the worst Clearlake permanent manager. Some timeline this.

Just felt like it
Maybe doomer but think we’re done for today. Hope I’m wrong. Just a bad feeling.

Idk if it’s the juju of the premier league but you watch him at Stras and in Belgium and his timing is so good on claims, and every cross here he’s constantly stuck underneath
Worried Pendu might be bad at reading the flight of the ball, every cross into the box has him stepping out initially b4 backpedaling to his line bc he realized he's not in position to make a play

Don’t think we’ve had 1 good dead ball delivery today

If Palestra is the answer here, I don’t really know what the question is

This all feels a bit like the off brand version of when Pep did the 442 double false 9 thing with City v Madrid

Need Rogers to recognize when the ball is going long and go post up. Play your size brother.

My only strong take directionally from that half is the 442 press has looked better than the back 3/5 stuff at every single moment.

Every time Spurs play into a midfielder facing backwards and I see Caicedo launching himself like an ICBM I get butterflies in my stomach, it's great

Quenda's been fine. Collected second balls, connected first pass. 1 dangerous delivery. Done the bits defensively. Game is a swamp, have to judge in the context (that will be the sub, eventually)

Quenda looks useless on Left side, need welbeck

Fine performance. Spurs are way better than their position in the table. Really missing JP to go direct and link. Wonder when we'll see Welbeck.

Penders screaming at Quenda about shifting 2 yards in the wall, takes his time to do it but does, and blocks the sneaky shot attempt. Nice.

Now check the 11.
The crimes I would commit to have been able to rotate Rogers/JP/Palmer/Nico this season. God. Deadly.
