A small gathering (perhaps unsurprising, given the weather) of classics at @SteamMuseum earlier today...
Update on reopening.
Due to overrunning maintenance work we will NOT be steaming until October and will remain closed. Further updates will be posted as soon as we have them. We do hope to look forward to welcoming you all back this year. We thank you for your ongoing support

❗ We have seen an increase of Covid-19 cases in #Littleborough ❗
We want to get on top of this quickly and we need your help.
Please get tested so we can stop the spread.
Sure it’s the same elf who visits the engine house 🤔
We may not be open for our Christmas Fair but ...... facebook.com/222922544552093…

For the time being we will remain closed. This decision is under constant review. The safety of visitors and our volunteers is of paramount importance. As soon as we have an idea of a potential open date we will let you all know. Until then keep safe and hope to see you all soon.
As other museums start to open we have taken the decision to continue to remain closed to the general public. This decision is under constant review and we will keep you informed as best we can. Lastly please remember to wear face coverings when inside buildings etc

Help prevent a local lockdown in the borough by following our new measures on #socialdistancing and #facecoverings. These came into effect on Friday (17 July) and will be in place for at least 2 weeks. More about the new measures - ow.ly/pUqT50ABZh0
ALT You must wear a face covering when in a shop or other public place
With great sorrow we share the sad news that long serving volunteer Bernard Halliwell passed away in the early hours of this morning. Bernard was an extremely knowledgable and popular volunteer. He will be hugely missed by everyone at Ellenroad
