Imagine a whale placing a MASSIVE buy order on Bitcoin. π’
Retail traders see it and think:
βOMG! $BTC IS GOING TO THE MOON! π BUY THE DIP!β
Thenβ¦ just before the price reaches that orderβ¦
π¨ POOF! THE ORDER DISAPPEARS.
The whale never intended to buy. The goal was to create a fake impression of demand and trick other traders into reacting.
That's called SPOOFING, placing orders with the intention of cancelling them before execution to manipulate how the market looks.

Watch actual executions, liquidity changes and price reactions, not just big scary numbers on your screen.

Not every disappearing order is spoofing. Traders cancel legitimate orders all the time. Intent is what separates spoofing from normal order management.

Whoβs paying whom?
Longs are still writing the checks. Funding is positive across the board, so every 8 hours the people who are bullish hand money to the people who are bearish.
BTC: ~+0.008β0.010% per 8h β Longs pay shorts
ETH: ~+0.006β0.007% per 8h β Longs pay shorts
SOL: ~+0.001β0.002% per 8h β Longs pay shorts (but barely trying)
Account long/short ratios (the βhow many people think theyβre smartβ metric):
BTC: ~61% long / 39% short (ratio ~1.56)
ETH: ~73% long / 27% short (ratio ~2.7)
SOL: ~72% long / 28% short (ratio ~2.6)
Translation: ETH and SOL are extra crowded with people who are long and paying for the privilege. BTC is only moderately crowded. The actual money flow (taker volume) has been more mixed, so the crowd is long but not aggressively buying right now.
Sarcastic summary:
Longs are crowded, theyβre paying shorts to stay long, and somehow half of them still think this is a bottom. Classic.
Shorts are getting paid to be wrong until theyβre not. Funding isnβt crazy yet, so the pain is still optional.
Rates flip fast. This is just the current vibe, not a signal. Do with it what you will.
