ALT JUST ANNOUNCED: The Department of the Interior has approved the construction and operations plan (COP) for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Commercial (CVOW-C) project, located offshore Virginia Beach. The approved project has an estimated capacity of 2.6 GW of renewable energy, capable of powering over 900K homes. This is the fifth major offshore wind project approved by the Department, which is a significant milestone to propel our nation’s drive toward a clean energy future.

Kudos to @NYSERDA. The agency's PSC filing and independent consultant analysis is an important, transparent step for NY renewable energy. It also provides tremendous value to those seeking to understand the impact of inflation and interest rates on renewable energy projects.

The fourth commercial scale offshore wind farm is fully approved! With construction milestones at Vineyard Wind 1 and South Fork Wind, federal permitting and leasing milestones and new state market activity -- U.S. offshore wind energy is making significant progress!
