Incredibly proud of my team!
A @UHN @McEwenInstitute team developed the first functional AVN-like pacemaker cells in their new study. 🫀
Their work lays the foundation for the development of a novel treatment that could someday replace the #pacemaker.

So excited to share the first paper from the lab!
We identified CD34 as a marker of the heart’s SAN pacemaker cells enabling their isolation from stem cell differentiation cultures, advancing future disease modeling and biological pacemaker applications.

Great talk by @michellecells on hPSC-derived AVNLPc and efforts to develop a biological conduction bridge. We are looking to move this project into a preclinical pig model and recruiting a pdf leading this work. DM if interested #tmm2024 @McEwenInstitute
Had a great time taking a short break from mat leave and catching up with our collaborators from the @Professeltine lab about our ARVC5 project while they were in town for #TMM2023 @StemCellNetwork
