REMEMBER: once your culture is gone, it isn't coming back. Government education has failed to teach the Great Books of the West for decades. Deliberately failed. That's why we started an independent group to study the Western canon, together. We're reading the books that form the mind and shape the spirit — the books our ancestors read. It is essential that we continue the Great Conversation of the West. Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Dante, Shakespeare, and Milton are not just names in a syllabus, but guides to a more beautiful life. Join our group and study the great works alongside us. We read a new classic every 4-6 weeks, and meet biweekly to discuss. We are just about to start Augustine's City of God. This is a foundational work. Possibly the greatest work of Christian philosophy. You do not want to miss this. Take out a paid subscription if you'd like to support our mission and join the discussions directly — it makes a huge difference to the time and resources we can dedicate. You'll get: - Live book club discussions (biweekly) - Essays to guide you through the Great Books - Access to our incredible community chat - All past recordings, essays, and podcasts - Ability to vote on what we read next... athenaeumbooks.com/welcome See you inside!

$MMTLP 11.8 BIllion “Shares” Scream Crime Scene Frozen in Time 11.8 BILLION 11.8 BILLION Silence and stonewalling don’t make crime scenes go away @palikaras
Almost 1 year ago, @ElfCarbon made the increcible post below. Upon thorough investigation, the @markets Bloomberg terminal screenshots show the face number is 11,849,153,000 units (M) The "M" abbreviation on a Corp preferred DES screen is Bloomberg's standard "thousands" abbreviator (from the Roman-numeral mille), NOT the sovereign fixed-income "millions" $ convention. Read that way, the Reopenings History row on the #MMTLP Preferred is asserting an issued/reopened amount on the order of 11.85 BILLION preferred shares, with Announce and Effective dates 12 December 2022, the day of the CUSIP deletion and the day before final cash settlement. The publicly known MMTLP outstanding as of the September 2021 spinoff was ~165 million preferred shares. If a Bloomberg terminal is showing a Reopenings row of 11.85 billion shares dated 12 December 2022 on the same preferred, that is NOT a rounding artefact and it is not a sovereign auction... it is either: (a) a Bloomberg terminal data error on a security that was in the middle of its most contested corporate action of the decade, or (b) a real reopening/issuance event on a preferred that was formally represented to the market as having been extinguished at the S1 record date. Both readings are worth chasing. only one of them is a smoking gun, and neither is the message we have all been fed (since 2023) to believe in any FAQ...

America is absolutely not a Laissez-affair capitalist country. If that were true, nearly every major bank, the entirety of the US auto manufacturing and the entire financial services industry would have ceased to exist post 2009.
Replying to @KeenanPeachy
Those are not the choices. America is a Laissez-faire capitalist country. America has been under attack and eroded by statists like you.

In April 1861 Robert E. Lee had the hardest choice of his life, and he made it pacing the floor of his house at Arlington all night long. He had just been offered command of the entire Union army. Thirty two years in that uniform. Winfield Scott, his old mentor, wanted him to lead. Lincoln's people wanted him to lead. Lee did not even believe in secession. He called it revolution and said if he owned every slave in the South he would give them all up to save the Union. But he was a Virginian. His family had been Virginian for generations. And when Virginia voted to leave, he could not bring himself to draw his sword against his own home, his own neighbors, his own children. So he sat up all night in the room above the Potomac, walking back and forth, and by morning he had written out his resignation. He gave up the biggest command in the country to fight for a cause he had doubts about, purely because of where he was born. He wrote to his sister that he could not raise his hand against his relatives, his children, his home, even as he could not see the necessity of breaking up the country. One man, one night, two loyalties that could not both survive. He chose the ground under his feet over the flag he had served his whole life, and it decided the shape of the war.
People know Robert E. Lee as the Confederate general. Almost nobody knows the 30 years that came before, and it's a wild resume. He shows up at West Point in 1825 and graduates 2nd in his class of 46 with zero demerits in four years. Not one. That basically never happens. Then the Army makes him an engineer. In the late 1830s the Mississippi River was shifting course and threatening to strand the St. Louis harbor on dry land. They send a young Lee. He builds a system of dikes to force the river to scour its own channel, and he saves the port. The city that would later sit in a war he fought against owed its harbor to him. The Mexican War is where he becomes a legend. He isn't leading charges, he's the guy crawling on his stomach through lava fields and enemy lines to find the paths nobody else can find. At Cerro Gordo he scouts a route around the Mexican flank that wins the battle. Winfield Scott, the top general in the country, flat out called him "the very best soldier I ever saw in the field." He runs West Point as superintendent. He chases Comanches in Texas with the cavalry. And in 1859 when John Brown seizes the arsenal at Harpers Ferry, the officer the government sends to end it is Lee. He takes it back in under three minutes. Then in 1861 Lincoln's people offer him command of the entire Union army. He turns it down and goes home to Virginia. History remembers the choice. It forgets the man they were fighting so hard to keep.

Spain is under military invasion. The neocons, so obsessed with Putin, are not calling this an invasion nor going on the news to demand the 🇺🇸 protect Spain, a Western country. I would actually support a naval operation to sink the boats. It’s in our country’s interest to do so.

"I never, ever compared myself to Joe DiMaggio. I thought there never was a greater player in the history of baseball. For me just to be mentioned in the same breath, boy, I always felt like I was two steps below him. I thought I could hit with anybody, but he was in my opinion as good as any that ever played this game. Joe DiMaggio was the greatest all-around player I ever saw. His career cannot be summed up in numbers and awards. It might sound corny, but he had a profound and lasting impact on the country. There's only one guy I saw you could mention in the same breath, and that was Willie Mays. I felt that just to have my name mentioned with Joe, it elevated me. I never thought I was ever as good." Ted Williams. "He and Williams were two of a kind, an unmatched pair." Dan Shaughnessy.

1. Trump campaigns with Elon Musk. DOGE takes out USAID. Trump team gets rid of Musk/DOGE. 2. Trump campaigns with RFK JR. Trump team hands HHS over Big Pharma. 3. Trump installs DHS guy. He cucks to illegal labor cartel in the first few days. There's a pattern here.

Democrats are outraising Republicans. These clickbait tweets are not helpful. Democrats do NOT raise money in their traditional PAC namesakes. Republicans should stop gaslighting themselves and learn the game because they get crushed by it. Democrats are laughing at you.

Democrats have tried to entangle American sovereignty with other nation-states in the past. Republicans bitched and moaned, then screamed "TREASON" when @glennbeck told them @BarackObama was sacrificing the Constitution to the UN. You're all Benedict Arnolds now, ensuring a Perot fracture if @TuckerCarlson and @elonmusk go for it. Good job, fools. Good job.

We are never going to save our country if the people in power, who have the ability to do what is right, are too cowardly because the left attacked them. This weakness will only embolden the left to ramp up.
🚨 JUST IN: DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin PERSONALLY gave the order for ICE to SUSPEND ALL "non-urgent" vehicle stops, Susan Collins confirms This is TOTAL CAPITULATION to the left. ICE arrests will drop off a CLIFF — just as leftist terrorists demanded. Illegals will now SPRINT to the driver's seat and run, knowing they can't be stopped. WEAK.

Nick, you are spot on. This mission is inherently dangerous. Kudos to the ICE Agents in Maine for putting their lives on the line!!!!!! Well done ICE!! With 100 million illegal aliens running around, many of whom were hardened criminals in their home country, it was never going to be neat and clean and pretty. It’s a tough mission for tough people. Bring back uniformed immigration police ( US Border Patrol) who have the requisite training, skills, abilities, and, most importantly, mindset for mass deportations. Never stop a mission when American lives are at risk. Ask Laken Riley, Jaqueline Nungaray or Kate Stinle. @LaurenWitzkeDE @BreannaMorello

This is unacceptable. If we aren’t deporting the bad guys, what are we doing? Bush III?
🚨 BREAKING: Border Czar Tom Homan announces the freeze on ICE performing immigration vehicle stops is only a "TEMPORARY PAUSE" — he says illegal alien arrests will not be impacted "I hear a LOT of noise this right now: 'This is gonna effect ICE arrests.' It's NOT going to!" Homan says ICE will continue targeting the same illegals, just before or after they leave or reach the destination "It's gonna be a SHORT pause. I'm confident ICE is well-trained. You'll see us keep moving forward. This is just a temporary pause."
