Everyone loves Albert Road, but more needs to be done to make it safer and cleaner.
That’s why my latest action to bring people and authorities together to improve visiting, living or working on the street and local area was to host a summit to agree an action plan with the police.
Thank you to all local businesses that came along to share concerns and agree practical next steps.
We are absolutely gutted that Portsmouth has not been shortlisted for City of Culture 2029. We believed in this bid and in everything it represents for our great city, so this is a hugely disappointing outcome.
Regardless of the news, we respect the independent panel’s decision and know the city's bid has already restored a real sense of pride and belonging in the place we call home. With local people, artists, community groups and cultural organisations coming together to show what makes Portsmouth so special it was our privilege to fire the starting gun for the process.
We would like to pay particular tribute to the team at Portsmouth Creates for their hard work, passion and commitment throughout the bid process, doing justice to our city's incredible story.

🌍 G7 agriculture ministers have met in Paris to discuss how farmers can be better protected from growing global pressures, including conflict, economic uncertainty and extreme weather.
Fertiliser supplies, soil health and better nutrient management were among the key priorities, with ministers looking at ways to make farming and food production more resilient to future crises.
