The One and Only! Cuddesdon Fete - beyond doubt the finest in any Theological College in Christendom. In fact, probably the best fete in the world. This year with warm sunshine!

It's been very interesting here too. Numbers up, in some cases very significantly, to the point that it's been much commented on - even despite some pretty atrocious weather on Christmas Eve. A couple of thoughts about that, and why it might be... 1/
Something I’ve noticed across the various whatsapp groups and mutuals on twitter: numbers seem to have been up this Christmas, by quite a healthy amount. Is this a reporting bias (people shout about success) or has that been a thing across the country?

We are looking to get rid of these theatre style pews bought in the 1930s if anyone would like to make an offer for them or knows anyone who would like to make an offer for them. They need to go fairly quickly as new chairs are arriving soon. Many thanks. 🙏🏽

Does Mr Jones have a point?
No 10 is pressuring a CEO to resign on behalf of Nigel Farage. But not the CEO of P&O who illegally sacked 800 workers Or the CEO of Avro Energy, who pocketed millions of customers money after going bust Or other CEOs I’ve questioned for bad behaviour Spot the difference?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is demonstrably untrue. The PM at the time and Grant Shapps called for the CEO of P&O to step down. theguardian.com/business/2022/…

Woo hoo - big day!
Today is the 700th anniversary of the canonization of our patron, St. Thomas Aquinas. Pope John XXII officially canonized him on July 18, 1323 — just 49 years after his death. St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us!

In a statement released to the PA news agency, Vicky Flind, the wife of BBC news reader Huw Edwards said: "In light of the recent reporting regarding the 'BBC Presenter' I am making this statement on behalf of my husband Huw Edwards, after what have been five extremely difficult days for our family. I am doing this primarily out of concern for his mental well-being and to protect our children. "Huw is suffering from serious mental health issues. As is well documented, he has been treated for severe depression in recent years. "The events of the last few days have greatly worsened matters, he has suffered another serious episode and is now receiving in-patient hospital care where he'll stay for the foreseeable future. "Once well enough to do so, he intends to respond to the stories that have been published. "To be clear Huw was first told that there were allegations being made against him last Thursday. "In the circumstances and given Huw's condition I would like to ask that the privacy of my family and everyone else caught up in these upsetting events is respected. I know that Huw is deeply sorry that so many colleagues have been impacted by the recent media speculation. We hope this statement will bring that to an end." 121802 JUL 23

Followers may be glad to read that @Cambridge_Uni has announced that I am to become a professor in October. This is an ideal opportunity for me to reiterate our gratitude to Susan Howatch for endowing the Starbridge position around thirty years ago.

Such fabulous news..
It was a joyful privilege to be present at the ordination of the first ever Palestinian female pastor. Revd Sally Azar will serve in the Lutheran Church of Jordan and the Holy Land. It is an encouraging sign of change happening in churches of the region.
