Few of us took in Bury v Spalding yesterday in the FA Cup Q3 - hosts edged 1st half and visitors the 2nd half but the cagey game reinforced my opinion that these games should be played to a finish on the day. England after wasn’t too shabby mind

Took in @NethertonUtdFC 5 @clactontown 1 this afternoon with a healthy turn out for the level & weather. Home side pretty decent. Got a picture of the @SGDLtd tunnel and barrier adjustment plus a wet Seamus. No Foggy though whose afternoon only lasted about 15 minutes!

Ipswich have now matched the number of home wins that they managed in the whole of their last premier division campaign and sitting comfortably in a Champions League spot

World Cup and Azteca experience in particular seems to have reenergised my enthusiasm for football which had waned massively last year. Will take in @NethertonUtdFC first step 6 game tomorrow to see if it can survive into August or only flicker like Scottish clubs in Europe!

Whatever your view on the merits of the bronze match, and no-one does arrogant indifference quite like us, why did Tuchel wait until France had battered us 2nd half & scored 3 (should have been 6) before sending in the A team? Who said we can’t go toe to toe with a big gun!

DJed Spence an apology - was excellent tonight and improved through the tournament. Under estimated generally including from me and is a proper player

Was a 50-50 game until England scored then tactical changes/substitutions ended with us getting battered from that point onwards and deserving of getting beaten.

No team in the world could have looked good in that 45 mins if every time they had a half break the opposition fouled them. What a disgraceful affront to the beautiful game Argentina are

Pretty underwhelming England squad. Personal picks Lewis Hall, Harry Maguire, James Garner, Jared Bowen & Danny Welbeck for Spence (no left foot) Quansah, Madueki, Toney & Henderson. Would also have Luke Shaw, Adam Wharton, TAA, Miles-Skelly & Foden ahead of those 5

How many Middlesbrough players will have gone, or are still be on holiday since Southampton game, been told they are being released or have agents lining up transfers to the Prem?

England v Uruguay a timely reminder of why I can take or leave top level football these days. Game is heading towards something completely unwatchable (unlike Rugby Union)

Blimey what a game. If some had told Scotland they would ship 40 points and win.. bonkers with Dupont all over the place but fair play Scotland

And another thing! 4 up from League 2 is a hang over from the old 3rd division North/South from Roman times. Surely that & National League should sync with rest of pyramid? Football really is in a mess at the moment from top to bottom

If the teams finishing 7th & 8th face the 5th & 6th away on a one off game, why doesn’t the winner of those play the 3rd & 4th team away in a one off game given the final is then also a one off game - not sure what the difference is?

Another German Fussball trip completed. Saturday double header took us to Dynamo Dresden 2 Furth 0 & then train across to RB Leipzig 1 Bayern Munich 5. That’s 16 grounds ticked off. Both nice cities in old Eastern block with decent apres game entertainment

This season I have been to games at @GresleyRovers @IpswichTown @Nethertonunited @walthamstowfc @LeicesterTigers @OfficialQosFC @theposh & @pborolionsrfc for a diverse mix of levels & sports. This Saturday game of the day is @SpaldingUnited v @HarbTownFC with a few boys
