This is the way, but I’d keep the current reward for provincial finalists.
8 teams not in finals play two rounds of knockouts (3 Munster, 4 Leinster, and highest ranked NHL team).
The 2 qualifiers play provincial finalists in quarters, and provincial winners in semis.
Peter Queally “But the reality is the sun hasn't even started shining yet and we're putting away our hurleys"
Waterford should be out of Munster but not the All Ireland.
The provincials should be separate to the All Ireland in hurling
Open draw knockout All Ireland after the Provincial final weekend - provincial finalists get home advantage
Mad thing is Waterford are so close to being All-Ireland contenders.
Beat the reigning champs last year
Drew with reigning champs this year
Toe to toe with Cork last week
The better team in Limerick for 60 mins today
Makes the constant failure in Munster even harder to take.
Favourite moment (among many) last night was seeing deliriously happy Connacht fans filling the tank with petrol before crossing the border home.
Fairly spicy relegation permutations in 1A.
If Tipp beat Waterford next week, Waterford are down.
If it’s a draw, Kilkenny need to beat Tipp in 2 weeks to avoid relegation. If they win, Waterford are down.
If Waterford win, they’re safe and loser of Tipp/Kilkenny is relegated.

Moved to Galway 8 years ago this week and I’m finally seeing the Deise in Salthill.
More importantly it’s our special girl’s first of many.
(Not visible, her Galway bib)
7 years of the Munster round robin and Waterford still haven't played their final game in Walsh Park 🙄

An unintended consequence of the split season is the end of the hurling-football double header, and honestly it’s a crying shame.
Having that Kerry/Monaghan game before Waterford/Limerick in 07 was such a great novelty.
More cross-code promotion can only be a good thing.

Great line from @tomasmcc on WLR on Cormac Spain’s first half performance:
“Imagine what he could do with 2 working legs!”
Incredible stuff from him and all the players so far.
