Marathons bring out several layers of humanity. The determination of those running, sacrifices of families supporting them and generosity of volunteers. The compassion of 10s of 1,000s of strangers cheering for people they'll never meet again. The tears, smiles, struggles and celebrations. It’s so cool to see. For 26.2 miles, sport reminds us - once again - that despite our differences, we're far more connected than divided. .@BNKonFOX the trophy is the Illibuck. Rhymes with Billy buck. Back in the day, the student leaders’ honoraries (Atius & Sachem + tOSU equivalent for soph. and juniors) would pass it overhead on the field. Proud to say #Illini earned it and I was part of those ceremonies!
