Based on the current pending royalties, I think I can confidently put that order in for my Jaguar...

Naive question. Beta readers - how to find them and how much of a risk is there that your story could be stolen, even if you claim copyright (which is a given in the UK)? – at Chestfield, England
I'm glad to see that some people are acknowledging the 60th anniversary of the #Aberfan60 tragedy. A harrowing but compelling listen is this documentary series on @BBCSounds.

Why can't people simply buy my book? Any one of them would do.
What? I have to spend time and effort promoting? I thought I just needed to write the books (which was effort enough), after which I expected copies to sell themselves.

I gave my beloved sketch book, filled with pictures I drew as a teen, to my granddaughter this week. I hope she looks after it. – at Yorkletts, England
Surreal meter reading moment.
The meter was outside.
Perfect.
I read it then, as I close the gate and step onto the pavement...
"Er, can I help you?"
"It's OK. I just read your meter."
"Why?"
"It's on my round today."
"But I don't want you to read it."
"Oh, OK."

Today's worry - Mrs LG, who tripped over the dog and broke the top of her arm as she landed on concrete.
She's going to be laid up for weeks now. I asked work to give me local jobs so I can be nearby. Really, REALLY worried about her now.

When you return from visiting your old house (preparing it for sale), which is 60 miles away and realise that you left your tablet behind.
That.
It's the only thing I use to write my WIP and the phone screen is too small. No writing until the weekend, then.

A friend gave feedback on "Coming Back" a while ago. I reread it and am going through a major rewrite. Going to be a busy few weeks.
We put some framed albums and prints up to have the house ready to sell 😕.
That's DSOTM, The Kick Inside, Ziggy Stardust, A Night At The Opera, Bat Out Of Hell and Captain Fantastic, if you're interested. The Bowie artworks are birthday presents from family. – at Hastings, England
While doing my round yesterday, I visited a lovely old gent, I'm guessing he was in his early 90s. After taking the meter reading, he told me he had started as a volunteer for this group. He then offered me a Reform leaflet.
I politely declined. – at Chestfield, England
My YT channel, while not challenging any celeb page, ticks along nicely. The most popular songs are those dedicated to Mum and to my wife, which is great. You'll find ballads, gothic drama, a power ballad and even a Waltz in there. Feel free to take a peek

To help cope with the death of my mother, I wrote a song for her . "The Journey" (Steve Le Grange) can be found on YouTube.
Four months on, I felt obliged to also honour Dad, who died in 2019. After much work, "Our Dance, Our Song" was created.

Meter reading isn't hard but when targets are hiked, bonuses become impossible. My original daily target was 98 visits/49 reads. New target is 217/53. Every visit I am short comes off my read bonus. I could get 80 reads but if that's from "only" 150 visits, I'll get no bonus. – at Broadstairs, England
Nearly every book I have published has gone out too quickly. Impatience is my biggest enemy. That and lack of talent, probably.
I'm now working on tidying up "Coming Back". Once that's done, I'll look at the others in turn.

Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary, after 20 years together. I am clearly incapable of rushing anything. – at Hastings, England
I did a light review of "Coming Back" last night. Just as well, as I found howling errors in chapters 1 & 2. So, unpublish/edit/republish it is. I was clearly in too much of a rush to get it out and will go over it far more carefully this time. – at Yorkletts, England
