In 1985, you could buy MDMA legally.
WITH A CREDIT CARD.
I'm not even joking.
A bar called the Tex's Ranch in Dallas was selling MDMA for $20 a pill.
The owner, Joe Moren, said they were selling around 300 pills A WEEK.
And yeah, some customers actually paid by credit card.
Because back then, Ecstasy was LEGAL.
Then, on July 1, 1985, the DEA banned it.
One day, you could buy it like a beer.
The next, it was a federal crime.
Imagine being there on June 30.
"LAST CALL" must've hit DIFFERENT. 😂

No hurricane has ever dared to cross the equator—the invisible line where Earth’s spin loses its sideways kick.
The Coriolis force, that subtle twist given by our planet’s rotation, is what sets these storms spinning in the first place. At the equator it drops to zero. Without it, a tropical cyclone can’t organize, can’t tighten into that familiar spiral, and simply falls apart. So the storms stay in their hemispheres: counterclockwise north of the line, clockwise south of it, forever separated by a meteorological no-man’s-land.

From the edge of space, Australia reveals its soul in one unforgettable sweep. The fiery red heart of the Outback — that vast, ancient desert — dominates the continent, glowing like ember under the sun. It’s dramatically framed by the deep sapphire blues of the surrounding Indian and Pacific Oceans, while along the northeastern coast, the Great Barrier Reef shines as a living turquoise ribbon, one of the most breathtaking features visible from orbit. This is Earth at its most iconic: a land of extremes where desert meets ocean in perfect, colorful contrast — a reminder of our planet’s raw, untamed beauty.A view that never fails to awe.
