Watching the Man City saga unfold as someone with absolutely no allegiance to either side…
One of the key pillars of football’s financial rules is supposedly “financial sustainability”.
So how is City’s owner effectively gifting equity to the club considered such a problem, while the Glazers loading Man United with huge debt and interest costs is compliant?
City broke the rules — punish them accordingly. But if debt-loading a club is acceptable while gifting equity isn’t, can we really claim these rules protect financial sustainability?
Perhaps it’s not just the clubs that need scrutiny. Perhaps the rules themselves do.

COACH OPPORTUNITY…
First Team Manager, James Kinsey, is looking to add another coach to our Men’s First Team staff.
Following a record-breaking title-winning season, the Ammies have made a strong start to life at Step Four and are now looking to strengthen the coaching team as the club continues to progress.
James Kinsey said:
“Since losing Liam Myers in the summer we have not actively pursued that extra pair of hands.
The phone book is there, but we wanted to put it out and see what comes forward to come and be a part of what we’re trying to build. Garry Brown give me my first opportunity in a similar capacity with New Mills all them years ago, and it’s turned out okay.
We want somebody to come in and assist myself and Tom Conroy in sessions, help with individual sessions and add to the very high quality staff we already have here.”
The position offers an opportunity to work within a competitive senior football environment at Step Four of the National League System. All applicants should be flexible to Tuesday & Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday afternoons.
