Local, state, and federal partners joined OCTA in San Clemente on Friday to mark the official reopening of a section of the San Clemente Beach Trail at Mariposa Point. The completed project includes a nearly 1,400-foot catchment wall, a new pedestrian bridge and a rebuilt trail, helping protect the coastal rail line while restoring an important recreational connection for the community. OCTA is also advancing emergency work at several vulnerable locations throughout San Clemente, including reinforcing shoreline protection, adding sand to help buffer the railroad from wave action and protecting the tracks from bluff movement. Thank you to our partners and the community for working with us to protect the coastal rail corridor and preserve public access to the coast. Read more: bit.ly/4hRrN2q
