@hughhewitt is absolutely correct. If any media outlet said that Trump committed rape, they need to broadcast an immediate correction that Trump did the following:

שמישהו יסביר לי למה סופרים את המפלגות החרדיות בגוש הציוני? רבנים מיינסטרים חרדים כינו את הרמטכ"ל יימח שמו. את הממשלה נאצים. רשעים. לא מכירים בדגל וקראו לזרוק לאסלה את צו הגיוס

Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas tells Channel 16 his priority is replacing Netanyahu’s government. Asked whether he would meet Eisenkot’s conditions, he says first establish whether a viable government can be formed, then discuss the details. Pressed to call Hamas a terrorist organization, Abbas points to his repeated condemnations of Hamas and attacks, and stresses Ra’am’s respect for the law and place in Israeli politics.

Netanyahu's coalition contains non-Zionist parties (Shas, UTJ). Everyone ignores this. But Netanyahu would raise hell if Eizenkot worked with a non-Zionist party 🤣🤣🤣

If the exit polls are correct, Likud should just dump Bibi. Why live with a center-right government that relies on Arab parties when you can be the majority of a right-wing government? And all it takes is saying no to one man.

No one in politics trusts him, and the public has Bibi fatigue. No one forgets who was in charge on 10/7. People are saying that Likud would have done much better if Bibi had stood down and allowed someone else to be head of the party.

Except, Netanyahu has knifed every coalition partner in the back - why should anyone trust him?
A unity government would mean Eizenkot and Bibi would cut out the smaller parties and the Arab parties and rule jointly. It’s been done in the past, and is a better option than going to elections again if neither of them succeed in forming a government.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

Still holds. Likud + Eisenkot + Bennett + Lieberman = 68
This is my regular reminder that the Likud could easily have, and even lead, a center-right national unity government—if only it would sideline Netanyahu.

People can focus on the uncertainty ahead and it is real. But at least a couple things seem clear: 1. Netanyahu’s bloc has fallen from 64 seats in the last election to around 50, with no clear path to forming a government. 2. Arab turnout was massive. Ben-Gvir may have helped drive those voters to the polls by heightening fears that they would otherwise be marginalized.

Hypothesis Likud minus Netanyahu is a perfectly viable partner for the opposition ?
In the Channel 13 exit poll, Likud received 25 seats in the Knesset, while Eisenkot’s Yashar has 23, while his bloc had 53 seats and the bloc supporting Netanyahu had 50. Record 17 seats for Arab parties. On Channel 12, Likud received 24 seats and Yashar had 22, while Eisenkot’s bloc reached 52 seats while Netanyahu’s got 50. Record 18 seats for Arab parties. Hendel and Winter didn’t pass the threshold which came to about 188k votes.

Ground hog day
The more likely victor is Eisenkot or at least the “change bloc.” But their only way to a majority is to rely on Arab votes, which most of the bloc’s parties said they won’t do. Even if they do include Raam, they’ll still have a minority government, which is very unstable.

The current Bibi-led government has 68 mandates.Tonight they got 50. 70 are against this government. This is a massive repudiation of the current Israeli government by the Israeli public. Israelis, Arab and Jewish, voted for change, with Arabs believing their vote mattered.
