Shane James Jr. is accused of shooting a 24-year-old mother next to her baby's stroller, killing a man for his car, then gunning down a mother and daughter in their own home. He is also accused of killing his parents.
Six dead, three wounded (including two officers).
In 2024, a judge ruled him incompetent and sent him to a state hospital.
Today, a Travis County jury found him COMPETENT to stand trial.
Prosecutors are nevertheless not seeking the death penalty. DA Jose Garza campaigned on a pledge never to seek it in any case.
