I crashed Drone 1 into the side of a mud volcano in CA a couple of weeks ago after the controller had a joystick failure (spring). Fortunately, it was a controlled crash landing and only broke one of the arms. #DJI #repair center sent a new #drone instead of a repair. Thanks!

Friday, November 6 update: The National Weather Service has issued a #RedFlag Warning for portions of #LosAngeles and #Ventura counties, effective Saturday, November 7, from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST. Human psychology when applied to social media always amazes me. I lost over 350+ followers just hours after standing up for the female co-pilot killed in the recent Learjet crash in Florida. Maybe that kind of targeted purge was good. 🤠

From a pilot… It’s really sad how many people on social media are blaming the woman pilot for yesterday’s tragic #Learjet 60 crash in #Florida. Just to remind everyone: as co-pilot, she was “second in command,” and it’s very likely the “pilot in command” made the final decision to fly through an avoidable storm cell, something most pilots are taught to avoid at all costs. Even that decision and result is only a theory at this point. The co-pilot did her job admirably until the very end, communicating with ATC while the pilot flew the aircraft, which was likely doomed in those initial few seconds.

Great technical post about the Learjet 60 crash yesterday in Florida. Helps to quash some of the idiotic conspiracy posts that it was a missile, etc. As a pilot, there is also the desire to learn from these events, although tragic. RIP.

Getty Images has filed for bankruptcy. Getty is the last stock photography agency I'm still signed with, a relationship going back more than 15 years. Although they still plan to sell stock footage and images, my own sales have steadily dropped over the years. It also sounds like AI-generated imagery is affecting sales, yet another reason I'm glad I no longer depend on stock photography or video licensing for income.
