What's the 2-2-2-2 Rule for healthy marriages?
2 - Every two weeks go on a date.
2 - Twice a week be sexually intimate.
2 - Two times a year take a trip overnight without kids.
2 - Every two years go somewhere multiple nights without the kids.
The four 2's can bless your marriage.
20 MARRIED SEX Facts and Statistics ...
1 - Most married couples have sex a little over 6 times per month.
2 - Married women are more than twice as likely to have an orgasm as unmarried women.
3 - In 1 out of 4 marriages the wife has the higher sex-drive than the husband.
4 - Roughly 20% of married couples fall into the “sexless marriage” category; defined as having sex less than 10 times per year. Which is totally fine as long as BOTH partners are okay with this. If one is not, that's not healthy. Many of these couples are older married couples, who are unable to have sex.
5 - According to statistics, 75% of married women orgasm during sex. AND many married women don't measure sexual success by orgasms, (but it's definitely very important). Meaning women often still feel connected to their husband, and satisfied, when not achieving an orgasm every time.
6 - The length of a men’s orgasm is roughly 8 seconds long whereas a woman’s orgasm is on average 20 seconds!
7 - The main goal of sex in marriage should be two fold:
1) To please each other person, not seek self-satisfaction first.
2) Re-connection as husband and wife.
8 - God created a woman’s clitoris with 8000 nerve endings .... and its ONLY function is to bring pleasure. Married sex is obviously to be enjoyed for more than just procreation.
9 - Two of the biggest enemies of married sex are busyness and tiredness. So if you're struggling with sexual intimacy, maybe slow down and make it a priority.
10 - Statistically the couples with the best sex-lives are the couples willing to talk about it with one another.
11 - IMPORTANT: How often should a married couple have sex? As often as they both mutually agree to. Whether it’s 5 times a a week, 5 times a month, or 5 times a year, it should be mutual agreement. Neither the higher-drive spouse nor the lower sex-drive should NOT be the one that sets the amount of times when it comes to frequency.
12 - COMPLAINTS: Top complaint from MARRIED WOMEN when it comes to sex? They want their husband to pursue them in other ways than just sexually. Meaning, they don't want to feel like the only time their husband wants them is sexually. Top compliant from MARRIED MEN when it comes to sex? They’d like their wife to initiate more often so they don’t feel like they’re begging. Nothing is worse than feeling like you're begging all the time.
13 - Most husbands feel very emotionally connected to their wife when they have sex with them. Most wives NEED to feel very emotionally connected to their husbands to want to have sex with them. Don't judge your spouse for being wired up different, try to see it from their vantage point and meet their needs their way.
14 - Married sex isn't just about having an orgasm. It's designed to connect and reconnect two people into one ... over and over. Married sex was created to be the purest form of intimacy ... where you touch one another physically, emotionally and spiritually. In fact, it's so good for your marriage, you should probably be having more of it.
15 - God created married sex for SO many reasons ...
* procreation
* pleasure
* oneness
* comfort
* bonding
* intimate knowledge of one another
* connecting AND re-connecting with one another.
16 - Did you know that every time you have sex with your spouse, oxytocin is released into your bodies. Oxytocin is a hormone and neurotransmitter known as the "love hormone" or "cuddle hormone," produced in the hypothalamus and released by the pituitary gland, crucial for social bonding, trust, and attachment. Oxytocin is an incredible gift that connects you to your spouse. That's why many say sex is a glue in your marriage!
17 - Of course anyone can have sex; it only requires a few body parts. But making love requires intimacy, commitment and a deep loving relationship. Marriage and making love will always require more work, but it's definitely so much better! The world makes sex common, God made sex to be special.
18 - We believe if there is anything physical, mental or emotional keeping you from you from having your best sex life in your marriage, you need to see a doctor. They can help with so many things someone might be having issues with.
19 - Of course intimacy is not just experienced through sex. It's found in talking, spending time together, doing spiritual things together, and so on. All areas of intimacy are important.

(Wives list coming shortly)
1. ROMANCE LEADING UP TO SEX SHOULD START BEFORE BEDTIME. Husbands, if you’re waiting until bedtime to start sowing the seeds of romance, you’re way too late. To get her in the mood, start earlier in the day by romancing her with a sweet text message, surprising her with her favorite candy, leaving her a little note before she leaves for work, etc. Start the romance early in the day.
2. PURSUE HER IN PLACES OTHER THAN JUST THE BEDROOM. Your wife needs to be pursued to feel intimacy. She wants to know you still want her as much as you did when you first married. Regular date nights, holding hands, etc., are great ways for her to feel pursued.
3. DON’T MAKE IT ALL ABOUT YOU. Even if sex your need, make sure your wife enjoys your intimate times as well. It’s not all about you and what you like, meet her needs as well.
4. HYGIENE IS IMPORTANT. Strive to look good and smell good for your spouse at night. Take a shower before you go to bed. Brush your teeth and shave. No one wants to snuggle up next to a goat.
5. INTIMACY IS MORE THAN JUST SEX. Your wife needs you to be intimate in more ways than just sexually. Marriage is more than just sex. Intimacy is opening up your soul and heart to your wife and sharing your thoughts, hopes and dreams. Intimacy is being “naked” and open in every area of your life with your spouse.

The VERY best marriages are built on friendship, and it's REALLY hard to be friends with your spouse if you're not spending any time together.

Great sex can create a moment of connection, but a healthy marriage creates the safety, trust, and emotional intimacy that make that connection even deeper. When two people feel loved, respected, and desired outside the bedroom, the bedroom often benefits too. A strong marriage is built long before the lights go off. 🔥
Statistics show that in marriages where husbands and wives compliment one another five times more than they criticize; the divorce rate dropped to 12%.
Great odds, all because couples chose to praise more than they criticized.
